Having a baby!

Kids are expensive pets. ✅

They are also a lot of fun, after the first 3 months, or so, of sleepless nights and shitty diapers. You get used to it.

It seems only yesterday that my daughter was small enough to hold in my hands, now she's in kindergarten!

I'm 14 weeks and 6 days today, all well so far. No picture from my first scan though as I didn't realise I'd have to pay for every copy, including my own. I will have a picture from the next one (6th Jan) and will hopefully know the sex. If anyone's interested I'll take some pics of my little bump and put them up soon 😄

Had a checkup with the midwife today, all well. Clear results from my initial blood tests, iron count good and blood pressure's back up again which is a relief as it was quite low. She used a miniature ultrasound device on me and we heard the heartbeat again, I will never stop being blown away by that 😊

Had more blood taken and other samples and was weighed so they can screen for Downs Syndrome, I'll get the results from that in a few weeks.

We had our 20 week scan on Wednesday.

It's a little girl! 😱

And my bump as of today - excuse the MC Hammer pants, I'm shopping for maternity wear tomorrow but at present have to make do with Jamie's trousers 😄

We have, Jamie chose Leia Rose and I really like it 😄 Due May 25th, I was 10 weeks exactly on my first scan which was Oct 27th. I did think I was further along but I wasn't 😄

I know! I'm eating like a pig though, not starving myself or anything silly. Drives me crazy when people actually try to keep their baby small for an easier birth, some people on a forum I joined have actually said they carried on smoking to ensure a lower birth weight 😠 I've put on around 12-14 lbs so far 🙂
