the ig by decree of the living tribunal cannot work in unison.
Fight starts in separate corners of a boxing ring in Madison square but is not contained to it...The planet earth is devoid of lifeforms
hmmm... well, a batkick can almost destroy a galaxy, and Doomsday said that had Batman done it on him it would've easily killed him as easily "as I would have squashed an ant", and that "it is the real threat". Since he said this while facing Superman, one can imply that batkick > superman
IG can destroy universes.

Wait...this isn't IG in unison. No problem, if Batman w/batkick > Superman, then Batman w/batkick and imcomplete IG obviously > Superman.

another dirty thing he could do is read all the minds of all humans and create a simulacrum of chuck norris and compile all of the "facts" into his powerset and have him hate superman with a passion with the mind/soul gems.

eternity bytched that the ig was a threat to his status, so the LT basically decreed it won't work for anyone from this point on, that probably extends to using two or more in concert also imo.

since eternity wined to the LT to deactivate it's use as a unit, the LT would only rescind that decree if eternity asked for it. the magus used several cosmic containment units to render eternity comatose and they needed a weapon greater than five cc's to take him out so warlock decided it was time to reactivate the ig. only galactus had the authority an cosmic importance to even get an audience with the LT so warlock teamed up with him to get the babll rolling. dr. strange helped also. galactus calls a meeting, eternity is there all catatonic n shit, so galactus used gamora as a scalpel to fix his mind in order for him to utter the word "yes" (iirc) to activate the gauntlet.
during all that, the magus beats the shit out of warlock and takes the non-working gauntlet just when eternity gets it working again (minus thanos' reality gem)

^ when the gems were close together, they were powerless.
the gems are wielded by will, so i guess the LT's decree stops anyone's one will from commanding the gems. the infinity watch was allowed to function as protectors, and their gems worked, warlock imposed his own law of stopping lust for the other gems with immediate punishment with the soul gem also, he would know if anyone wanted to gather the gems to use them for evil or personal gain.

I remember before the IG was completed that Warlock was talking to Eternity about giving Thanos the reality gem. Eternity then stated that if Thanos recieved the rrreality gem that Thanos would be beyonded his reach.
