Superman vs Thor (Full-Potential Battle)

This is to much in Thors favor!!! Besides The claim has often been made that Superman is stronger than Thor. Many times on versus forums threads this claim is accepted as a given by both sides of the debate. I don’t concede that the Man of Steel is physically stronger than the god of thunder though. Thor has performed feats such as lifting the World Serpent, and once hurled the Odinsword, an enormous mystical blade, through a Celestial!_ Thor has also single-handedly matched the strength of the Hulk on numerous occasions (the Marvel Universe’s strongest character). Not only that but Thor is capable of entering into a state known as the “Warrior’s Madness”, which will temporarily increase his strength tenfold. Some of these feats have no true equivalent in the DC universe. We think at the very least, the two character’s physical strength is equal.

That's why he struggles to defeat non flyers like Darkseid & Doomsday?
Eventually, he has to get up close to these guys to beat them. Trading blows up close, he can just as vunerable.

Strength levels between the two is a wash. Superman's greatest feats of strength happen when he's flying, so it's some other power doing the work. Like if Thor is carrying some huge object while in the air, it's because mjolnir is doing the burden of it. Both are capable of upping their strength levels dramatically - Superman by sundipping, Thor with his belt of strength or by entering warrior madness (which is dangerous to himself to do too often.) I think the story showed the edges both have - Superman with faster flight speed & reflexes, and higher durability; Thor with his greater firepower, hitting power and stamina. Plus the intangibles - Thor's capability to open dimensional gates and absorb energy (him using mjolnir to suck energy from Superman's heat vision - that was missing from the JLA/Avengers fight), and Superman's questionable stamina levels.

darkseid can fly.

some times but he performs to stay grounded rather then engage in high speed areal maneuvers and high speed fighting.. afro2

he rarely fights anyone who flies during fights or tries to keep their distance from him. even superman goes toe to toe more often than not.

Despite being a Thor guy, I'm tempted to say all comics written by Tom DeFalco should be non-canon, and go into the same toxic file folder that includes recent Jeph Loeb. 😛
