He was on par with Yoda actually. I think he would have beaten Yoda. He was certainly better against Palp who he actually beat.

Mace's lightsaber is normal, it's his saber style, Vaapad that's powerful, but it can turn an inexperienced user to the dark side. Vaapad doesn't amp speed, it uses your love for battle, and your opponents anger to fuel your attacks, making them more powerful.
Yes, Mace could have ended the war if he acted on finding the Shatterpoint which was Sidious. And the reason Yoda didn't beat Palpatine is because he knew he wasn't the one to do so.
Also, Mace didn't defeat Sidious, Sidious let him win so Anakin would continue his fall to the dark side.
iirc it was the lightsaber that repelled the lightning, not mace's knowledge of the force.
and it was explicitly said that anakin's force potential was the only thing that could eclipse yoda's, palpotine is un unknown (at least to me)
anakin has potential in the force grater than windu's, but his battle skills are lower overall imo.

It not normal, there a difference with each crystal, some are stronger, some easier to wield ect. Vaapad power comes from the user. Actaully it can turn anyone to the dark side which it did the fame weapon master bulq consider one of the most powerful. Mace is generally consider the greatest light saber duelist of his time.

Also, the synthetic crystals (red ones which Sith&Dark Jedi use) have more power than blue ones. It was stated in Attack of the Clones: The Visual Dictionary.

It uses ones thrill of battle. Mace Windu version of Vaapad amp his speed greatly. Not everyones would, his version of it did.

No he did not few the sith has his student, except for dooku, sorta anakin. The other neevr trained in the jedi order.

There were a number of different stones, minerals, and crystals that could be used in the construction of a lightsaber. Some jewels were known for creating different colors and effects in the lightsabers in which they were placed. Often, the rarer the crystal, the more powerful its effects on a lightsaber was.
