That's a bit bloody rich seeing it is straight from the dire Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. In any case, originality of setting is not an ounce as important as a good story. I could run a dozen games in setting no-one here has ever heard of, or most likely not anyway- Vampire, In Nomine, Paranoia, Traveller, Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu... but this isn't a hardcore RPing board, it is a movie board, and so it is far more relevant to use franchises people can relate to.

Actually though... if I could get it working, a one-off Paranoia game would be a brilliant idea. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Anyway, well, Spiderman idea is sounding good, don't knock yourself too much on a system, though, you don't necessarily need one. Some way to regulate characters is probably the only bit of 'legisliation' you actually definitely need.

perhaps just dealing out character's would be the most difficult part. Im sure everybody could find a role they would grow into. remember only Spidey has his abilities from the get go, Ock and Goblin would be the next in line

hosted Shadowrun would be cool... how many years would it take to set something like that up?

For those that don't know and are too lazy to Google or whatever, Shadowrun is kinda sorta like... like what? like Blade Runner-ish, futuristic dark bleak techo-punk cops and robbers, gangs, mega-corps, and mafias. You know the whole concept of the Matric-within-the-Matrix? Shadowrun is sorta like the Matrix-without-the-Matrix, it's like what if the Matrix-world was the real world, only this weird futuristic disease plague thing infected people, killed some, mutated others, and changed the world, at the same time techonolgy kept advancing into the future, population exploded, mega-cities, ruled by massive business conglomerates called mega-corps sprang up where all the survivors massed, while the rest of the planet became like a wasteland.

It's all about mega-corp rule vs the rebel renegade underground resistance sorts, the gangers, bikers, cyber-punks, all wrapped around the whole idea that information is power and wealth and control, whoever controls the information controls the world, and all that valuable information is contained in computers (of course)... so there's jacking, hacking, and killing, good-corps, bad-corps, dead corpse, bullets, bytes, back-stabbing, butt-kicking, tactical-mastery and techno-magery...

oh and there's elves and dragons and wacky stuff like that too..
it's like Lord of the Rings meets the Matrix... it's Lord of the Matrix...

I got an Idea based on the books of Han Solo:

He is a child without a past, a Corellian street urchin, abandoned, foraging for scraps of food, when the cruel Garris Shrike whisked him away to a nomadic band of space faring criminals. Shadowrun is Cyberpunk with Orcs and Elves... though if you've never come across Cyberpunk that's not much good.

I said Shadowrun would be cool, but it takes a super power mega god-mod to put something like that together and run it successfully, and I'm just a naive, ignorant, cynical, sarcastic son of a ***** who don't know nothing from nothing about running no message board or message board RP...

I wasn't volunteering or suggesting the idea, just commenting on grand master Ush's mentioning of the game.
