Bond °23

Hey guys.

I noticed that there wasn't a proper thread for discussion of Bond 23 - so, to rectify that oversight, here it is 😛 .

Daniel Craig confirmed earlier this week that production on Bond 23 will begin at "the end of next year". I'm guessing, then, that we can expect to see it sometime towards the end of 2011 (which seems a long way off I know!).

So then, what do you guys want to see from Bond 23? It's already been confirmed that it will be written by Peter Morgan ("The Queen", "Frost/Nixon"😉, and regular Bond scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (groan ...), but not much else is known at present (other than that Daniel Craig will once again be playing 007).

I'm guessing that, after the lukewarm critical reception that was received by the downbeat "QOS", that they'll make the tone of the film somewhat lighter (though hopefully without the cheesiness of "DAD"😉. I would also not be surprised if Q, Moneypenny, and gadgetry also found their way back into the franchise ...

I also hope that they'll give at least some kind of closure to the "Quantum" storyline of the last 2 instalments ...

What do you all think?

Can't wait for the new movie to come out. even though I like the old ones better I can't wait to see the result.

I am not sure whether I like the idea of Sam Mendes directing a Bond film or not. I have nothing against his previous work, but I just think that this is not right for him.

I've read in a few places that Ernst Stavro Blofeld will be in Bond 23. This would be wickedawesomecool.

I would like to see this happen, but for some reason I just cannot believe it.

that would be weird... I'd prefer them to continue with the orginal idea and not the new ones...

I annoys me that all the gadgets part is restricted to regular cell phone... no romance in it.

I think it would be interesting to have Blofeld come back, but - as actor Michael Sheen pointed out in an interview - after the Austin Powers series sent him up so successfully, a credible, dangerous Blofeld would be difficult to pull off for the Craig era ...

Now the film is on hold indefintiely, thanks to MGM being up for auction!

What is with them? Sony/Columbia has the rights now; how does MGM's sale affect the status of the film, when there's money to be made? 🤨

Hopefully recent events will result in Daniel Craig leaving the role.

This could be a good thing, they need to go back to the gadgets and humor, and bring back John Cleese. i'm tired of these bourne bonds.

Nah just replying to darthmaul1 to what he said saying about the movies need to get back to "gadgets and humor".

there will be no Bond 23. at least not any time soon. due to some financial problems of MGM? or whatever company has rights...

Which doesn't make sense, because Sony has the rights now. What legal/financial difficulties affecting MGM should hold them up?
