then, considering fights, galactus doesn't have a great record either.

but considering inherent powersets...mephisto should be more on odin's level than thor's.

Unfortunately for Mephisto, he wasn't powered down in any of those incidents, unlike Galactus. Thus, faulty logic.

mephisto is a ruler of a realm...thor is the son of a ruler of a realm. mephisto HAS to be more powerful than classic thor.

Whether or not you rule a realm says -nothing- about your power level. People who rule realms are not necessarily omnipotent in their respective realms either, look at how many times Belasco has been overthrown.

True. Mephisto managed to stalemate Galactus for a long time.
Now Thor has managed to drive off a weakened, hungry Galactus, but that was an over-performance on his part. I'm not convinced; Rune King Thor might be the one who could definitely win.

Silver surfer beat Mephisto in his own realm... in summary, Mephisto just hasn't been written well after 1060s... due to continuity Mephisto has to lose now. Just like Darkseid, DS SHOULD be very powerful, but due to continuity he has to lose a lot of fights... Batman beat his ass twice *tears*
