we don't know, really. superman has undergone VAST changes in just 10 years, not sure why it would strike you as unreasonable for Mephisto to change in 20 - 30 years.
for the people saying thors power level has gone down. how much do u think hes gone down, and when and where did this happen. and if not any specific times are u saying over the past 20-30 he gradually weakened over the years to a point where its clearly noticeable that hes much weaker? sure his feats vary through the decades, but whose haven't that have been around that long with various writers. there have been high end feats and low end feats and feats in-between, but no drastic and clearly stated power fluctuations like d/c, nothing even comparable.

just because hes spent his time acquiring the knowledge of the runes, the odinforce and other stuff doesnt mean he cant still lift heavy shit. unless hes tried something comparable or easier and failed or a power fluctuation has been stated or shown i think the argument is kinda weak. i just dont think its too far fetched to think he couldnt recreate those feats in absence of evidence to dispute it.
