He's a merchant leader- in terms of the primitive Epirean economy, in any case. Even in the towns, the Epirean culture is force-driven (not THAT type of Force...) but the town leaders can afford to hire (mostly by way of goods) enough goons to protect themselves.Garshak is greedy and Firak considers him inferior, though you can easily sense the jealously there. Culturally speaking, of course, the towns are the future of this world, not the tribes. If this place had been left alone, that is.
One way that we could get control of the economy is if we convinced Firak to start his own town and begin his own market. I believe Epireans would be willing to start going there, if we initially offered superior goods. Maybe not technology, per se, but medicine or foods from offworld.
Azarl wants to meet Garshak and examine the marketplace for himself... Azarl will take a cargo skiff out to the city.
To solve the issue of piloting the skiff, Azarl will spend 4xp to buy Pilot as a skill. Now I have a mount (hooray).
Azarl thinks that Rianna and Dak giving in to Galder's demands or Rand's manipulations is stupid, though he is in support of the creation of an Epirean Army.
Ush- I am getting more invested in Azarl and have changed his background some. I have never used my Merits. Might I make some changes? I am ditching the battle droid for a Vudan warrior named Karsh, who comes from Vudes, Azarl's homeworld. He's a knife-fighter.

"Stupid," Azarl comments to Rianna and Dak. "You should have fought Galder. Now he has numbers on his side. Fools, both of you."
"Ahhh, so you wait until the threat of a fight breaking out has ended to speak. How typical. Afraid to get drawn into it yourself?" Rianna replies. "And if you'd ever removed your nose from a book, you would notice that most of the time, I agree with Galder."
