USH'S STAR WARS GAME- LIGHT SIDE INTERLUDE- 'Broken Lance'

Well there has to be a way to track that much food right?

In what way?

We would need to find out where they get their food from before anything. From there we could see how they get food and supplies back to their rendezvous point.

Could have possibilities...

But for that we would need to find a Hutt who deals in discrete shipping of such things, and the problem is the 'discrete' part.

Well, you would indeed have to come up with a practical way to find the shipments.

Starship rules are up in the rules thread, for thosr that are interested...

(Sorry for disappearing, more health crap. I'm not that old, but feel like Im falling apart...
Anyhow, Jelena and I can pick those piratey names, I'll go with Fellen, and maybe say we're smugglers who are without a ship. We're experienced, but without a ship we're forced to work cheap. That ought to make us useful to the pirates. We would be good either on raids, or on the constant food/supply runs they need to keep them going. That work?
And I agree with the food angle. They need lots, and without being paranoid of intentional irony where else would food be relatively easy to come by than the Famine releif efforts? Compared to what a planet needs, a group of pirates, even a BIG one, would need only a small fraction of what's going around. They're probably not raiding or we'd have heard about it. So they've got insiders there too, to divert food and maybe more, to the pirates.
Assuming (dangerous!) I'm close to the truth there, we might think about setting arselves up as available for food runs near the area the pirates keep hitting. We might just be offered an 'opportunity'.
Or maybe I'm way off, but that's where my mind goes today.)

The problem with the famine relief efforts is that a. it's just a big bunch of money to buy food with now, so the suppliers are the same businesses as ever and b. none of it is being used.

So if you want food, you just buy it from a wholesaler. Plenty around. It is discrete transporation that is the trick.

So it would be a matter of figuring out which food wholesaler is making discrete sales to pirate fleets... which sounds like an overwhelmingly huge effort, even for a team of Jedi.

I like the piratey pitch, Andro. Jelena will masquerade herself as Marlain.

Do we have a means of forging these fake personas, Ush? Is that something the Order can help us with?

No- and that sort of thing takes time- too long to build up a rapport.

You know, you think that to get that angle right, you are going to need someone who has contacts amongst such people.

To sum up the situation at this point-

- If you can find where they are buying their supplies from, there are possibilities to track the fleet's location

- If you can intercept their informaiton gathering efforts, you can get an idea on future targets

- You are going to need considerable local forces in order to make an efficient take0down. This will require a good rapport with the world at the target point; diplomacy is useful here. Problem is, you don't know where they are hitting yet. It may be too late by rthe time you actually get a name, so eprhaps finding some ways to narrow down targets is handy

- Jenela and Andro want 'in'. But you need eomeone who has contacts and experience with working in such areas to help yuo get a reference...

(Would Gallagher's Dad be of any help here?)

Not an available contact.

Someone you know a bit more directly!

I'm not sure if any of us have a contact like that. Zaland would have had experience in the area but he's got his own things to attend to...

Did Gallagher ever get an answer from him whether or not if he knew the girl?

Her name is dwindles into incomprehensible mumble.

Did you define Galahad's protector's mother?

-

None of you have a direct conbtact like that. MANY of you know someone who does...

Are you referring to another player? Xeth and his motley crew of Renegades, perhaps?

The people that work amongst scum and villainy all the time?

The same Xeth that has been on Shareth's case for smuggling Battle Droids for years?

I feel like that would be the correct answer then!

Ah! I had totally forgotten about Zalandos... I suppose I develop Zaland's bride-to-be. Her name shall be Bria, herself a Protector for one of the Starkwinds, a wealthy Thespian family like the Klinge-Fausts. Gallagher would not know her, but Zaland likely met her while doing dirty work for Gallagher's uncle back in the day on a 'business deal' with the Starkwinds.

"Congratulations, my friend," Gallagher says. "As a Jedi I can never entertain that path, but I fully expect to attend the wedding. I'm sure you'll enjoy explaining how you know me to Bria."

-

I think we should give Xeth a call then! Gallagher can do so if need be, from the base on Estalia.
