Just read through that thread. Given the offense, I think the discipline is a bit excessive, even with Kris's priors. It's like violating a man's parole for jaywalking. If I were still a Mod I'd have let that ride. AC's complaints withstanding.
Some people seem to think that just because they gain a single iota of tenuous power, they can act as arrogant/egotistic as they want, just because they can. It seems like these same people don't feel the need to justify their decisions any further then essentially saying, "he pissed me/us off, so I banned hiz azz". Meh, that's just their prerogative I guess, but does that denote good Mod skills? Not imo -- but then again, its not my decision to make. *shrugs*
As for the match at hand: All we can do is wait for the votes and go from there.

Understood. Nothing wrong with disagreement, though I'm sorry you feel that way. But yes, I'm aware of both sides of the issue. I don't believe that any of AC's words offset Kris's offense, but I've talked to him as well. Complaints of this variety need to be dealt with in a more constructive manner, because the fact is that most incidents of spoilers are unintentional, sporadic, and not warnable offenses (and the rules on it acknowledge this). More discretion on his part (or anyone's) will be needed, because the mods acted on Kris's behavior but have ignored past complaints when the intent was not malicious.

Bans are made public for other mods, and reasons/links/past record/etc. must be cited. We also have general rules for warning/ban procedures. This is to ensure that each ban is justified, besides the insta-bans like socks or asvertisement spammers that aren't extensively justified because they fall into clear rules for bans (and make up probably 98% of KMC's bans).
It's hard to see most of this as non-mods, and I'll admit that there have been limited exceptions, but I can assure you that rage-bans are so rare as to be nearly non-existent. Subjectivity will always be present, but it's not based primarily on the whims of the mods.

You guys were endowed with 'modism' for a reason - I fully understand and acknowledge that. But having that title doesn't give anyone a reason to talk down to others, just because they can. (Not directed at you in the slightest, Digi... Or any comic mod for that matter.)
