You ever tried heroin to make that comparison?
EDIT: After looking it up, other than the fact that it's not mixed with Quinine or lemon juice, Diacetylmorphine IS heroin. Heh, shit...
Another, along with the Muddy Waters tune, one of hundreds of Pre-Beatles drug songs.... (Excluding the many more Alcohol songs that were around for those who make a distinction between drink and the other drugs)

😆
I can't tell if you're trying to be funny or not. Most songs from this era were skillfully written to have two meanings, either referring to drug use or sex.
That's one thing i like so much about the music from that era...,the subtlety. Today, the intentional obscenities are blatant. "bltch, pop that pussy" No wondering what that lyric is implying 😐

Well, it's common knowledge that the Beatles did drugs, and they're definitely not the only musicians that do/did.
That L.S.D.-thing has been going around since they first released the song, but the song actually originates from a drawing of John Lennon's son, Julian, who drew a picture of a classmate (Lucy O'DonnelL) in nursery school. When asked who the girl in the drawing was, he said 'It's Lucy-in the sky with diamonds.'
John Lennon stated that the connection with LSD was purely coincidental, whether you want to believe that or not is up to you.
I don't know if anyone else has posted this, as I didn't take the time to read all the replies.
Beatles forever!
