Revamped Thor Respect Thread

Here's another update on Mjolnir which focuses on its mastery of storms and lightning:

MJOLNIR STORMBRINGER

STORM CONTROL

Thor can summon storms from the realm of Cragmouth. The storms are deadly powerful and heed Mjolnir's call. And as Odin describes, they are essentially great "storm-magicks," from The Mighty Thor: Godstorm #1:

The lightning's sheer power is demonstrated against Sentry, when it begins cracking his form open, and later throttles the Void onto an open field, from Siege #3 and 4:

Mjolnir can emit powerful lightning and channel it through the ground to incapacitate the Asgardian God of War, Tyr, and his warriors, from Heroic Age: Prince of Power #2:

Mjolnir can also diminish storms, as he does here with one summoned by Loki, from The Mighty Thor: Godstorm #1:

"Thor: Godstorm" was great in terms of showing us a slightly more in-depth view than usual of how Thor's weather based powers differ from someone such as say Storm.

This is bad ass of Thor to do.He went to the Philippines to mourn the death of the Diwata Anitun(Goddess of Wind,Rain and Lightning) in the Philippines. This is also suggest that Thor at 1 point in time, went to Kaluwalhatian(Home of the Diwatas/Gods of the Philippines).

Thor describes Anitun to Ironman.

It was later revealed that the Goddess Anitun Tabu didn't really died but it was her host that died since Diwatas used human host to live in the human world. It was revealed Anitun transferred her powers to the daughter of the deceased host.

That issue also had a nice strength feat for Thor.

He chipped Iron Man's Extremis Armor with a single tap from Mjolnir.

hmm Am i the only one that found it extremely out of character and weird for thor to basically threaten to KILL amadeus cho at the end of heroic age prince of power 1? I mean for a character that respects human life and tries to avoid killing as much as possible threatening to kill a teenage boy (telling cho he would pay with his life) was way out of left field imo...

^ Guess with what Thor had heard about him -- helping WWH, trying to wreck SHIELD -- thinking he'd stolen the Idunn Apples was a great dishonor to Hercules' name.

Here's a fight I neglected to post originally. Commanded by the Collector, Thor ambushes a weary Ironman and makes short work of him. One-sided as it is, hero fights are still always worth a look.

I wish current Thor would use more of his powers all he does is smack people with mjolnir.

You might get your wish.Thor will be joining Silver Surfer,Galactus,Sersi,Venus and Amadeus Cho in the new God Squad led by the resurrected Hercules to battle the Japanese Shinto God Of Evil Amatsu Mikaboshi and his newly acquired Slave Pantheons in Chaos War coming in October.

Well Thor's a warrior dude he is gonna go with that first all the time.

Great thread but I disagree on the worthiness enchantment. It has nothing to do with gravity. If that were the case then how come all the times Thor fought in space his hammer returned to him? That's a basic enchatnment right there.

...

So nothing has changed.

One of Thor's most famous fights with Loki is the duel they have on the Isle of Silence in Avengers #1 which ultimately leads to the creation of the Avengers. Here is that fight retold in Joe Casey and Phil Noto's Avengers: The Origin.

It mirrors almost exactly the original fight as presented by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby from Avengers #1:

I really liked that fight. Had the "classic" vibe to it.

Looks like Thor's hands will be full.Preview of Chaos War:Thor

That's Thor Vs Glory.

Glory contains the essence of an entire pantheons of gods. He's like Odin w/ destroyer armor and the essence of every asgardians except Thor.Seems Amatsu Mikaboshi fears Thor the most.

Looks like a bad ass, foe for Thor.

Very cool.

Can't wait to see Thor going against these cosmic level threats on the following months!
He'll have his hands full with the enemies in the Fraction's run ,with Ego in Astonishing Thor and now, against Glory.

i really hope that Glory shows off some real power. marvel has been bs with the gods these days

I just hope we see some real good feat from both of them
