My take on it is that the Void was always there to force his confused consciousness back into being even if he wanted to die. When Thor blasted him at the end of SIEGE Void was weakened due to the stones. So Sentry was allowed time to dissipate.
Even though Void erupted out of him it was too late.
Loki's sacrifice was enough to put him down for good.
If the Void still exists then the Sentry isn't dead 😛
I don't think killing Thor is as easy and simply dispersing him. Godly life-force, history of resisting energy and molecule stuff. There's more to killing Thor than simply pulling at his molecules.

I don't agree, if Robert Reynolds dies the Void dies.
The Sentry is the source of Void's existence.
If Thor dies he can still be resurrected. Via prayers of common folk at the least.
Sentry was an entity of undisputed power who's only weakness was his sanity. Only Osborn managed to understand and start to get deep into his psychosis.
My only angst against most people in this forum is their inability to understand that the Sentry was a straight up psychological entity who struggled to keep his head together due to his unfathomable powerset.
No doubt the Sentry and the Void will return. And if either have already then hey, good for them.
But there is no doubt that that Void would've killed Thor if the Norn Stones weren't introduced into the battle during Siege.
Thor would return later no doubt but Void was winning their fight.
