Las Vegas hates President Obama

Read the silliness that ensued

The President of the United States is telling his fellow Americans not to waste money in Las Vegas and you guessed it right folks, people at Sin City didn't appreciate that.

Obama responded "I was making the simple point that families use vacation dollars, not college tuition money, to have fun. There is no place better to have fun than Vegas, one of our country's greatest destinations." After this, Vegas had no comment.

Later on, Obama replied "You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices" and what a surprise, Vegas got pissed off again.

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said that Obama is no friend to Las Vegas and he will never be welcomed to the greedy city.

Well I guess now we know where Obama won't be at during his vacation.

How dare he suggest people spend sensibly!

It's even funnier in the article itself, where one of the LV politicians said something like "he's infringing on people's rights to get ripped off".

New Orleans loves Obama and each of the 8 times I've been, I've dropped no less than $500 in 3 days in the French Quarter.

Funny, Obama's home state of Illinois has lots of riverboat casinos. How come Obama isn't trashing them?

How many people do you know take a one week vacation, out of state, to gamble in Chicago.

😐

Exactly.

Chicago is alright.

So...,the devil is mad at the devil?

To be fair, Las Vegas sucks.

It does. Noisy, too many bright colors, bad food and it smells of unwashed ass.

Food isn't bad, you just have to stay away from the $1.99 buffets, of course.

When it comes to gambling local markets are worse than vacation destinations. A couple from Chicago might go to Vegas once a year....but they can gamble at home every day

Las Vegas is my 2nd home (TJ is my 3rd) so whoever diss my town can eat *BEEP*!

Na, it's bad. ****ing dessert, everything gets imported then sits in freezers. Not saying you can't find a good restaurant, but generally speaking, it's touristy crap-cuisine.

Don't think you're allowed to get upset over people's opinions of a 2nd or 3rd home.

For that matter, really shouldn't get upset over people's opinions of your home-city/town, unless you're from Jersey, as that's something those douches do over there in knee-jerk fashion.

Have you ever had the buffet at the Bellagio? Some of the best food I've ever eaten.

WTF?

I thought it's wrong to belittle a city's reputation like that, but that's just dumb.

Pretty sure I haven't. But the words "buffet" and "best food" do not go together.

Then you really can't knock it if you've never had it. It's been voted best quite a few times.

You're right, and I did say a good restaurant could be found, so I'll concede the argument. But a buffet is a buffet for a reason.
