The Thanos Imperative!

Wow, I loved the art, but HATED the story. What's the point of killing all these characters when they'll just be back in a few months?

Another flop.

I have. No response.

Lazy noobs

What did you dissapointed people expected? I mean, Marvell certainly did almost nothing, the Revengers were one-shotted all around and Thanos did what everyone almost predicted he'll do. BUT, having things be much different from that would feel odd too.

to make the long story short:
1. you can't please anyone
2. some people will continue whinning no matter what

So I have read the issue

Spoiler:
Pretty good issue. At the front-line of the fault, things are looking desperate as Galactus is seemingly engaging the Galactus Engine 1-on-1 (what happened to Tenebrous? the Celestials?) and situation is so dire that the Kree and Shiar fleets as well as the full remnant of the Nova corps are moving in to support Galactus directly. Buzzing flies to a heavyweight championship boxing match.

Back in the Cancerverse, Nova arrives and battles the Revengerse, by himself. He makes one final (yep, final) communique with the worldmind and summons all the nova force from Wendell and the nova corps members who are supposedly supporting Big G.

However, it turns out that Thanos screwed Mar-Vell, as performing the ritual somehow brought 616 Death to the Necropsy, and she simply touched Mar-Vell and he was dead. The Galactus Engine explodes, the fault because to recede and close itself, and the GoG are somehow tricked into teleporting out, without Nova and Starlord. Thanos, imploring Death to speak to him, gets no response, and starts going bezerk. Quill and Nova intend to seal Thanos in the imploding Cancerverse to prevent him wreaking madness in 616 universe.

Starlord uses the last of the cosmic cube and Nova, empowered by full access to the Nova Force, rush to contain Thanos for 60 seconds until the cancerverse implodes on itself and is no more.

On Attilan, statues of various casualites are erected (Adam Warlock, Phyla-Vell, Drax) and of course, the statues of Starlord and Nova that I mentioned Sepulveda showed me are on the last page.

Have to be honest, it was someone of a depressing end, seeing all those statues. Literal and figurative ending of an era.

Spoiler:
I think the Celestials and Tenebrous might have moved to fight the other Cancerverse abstracts that was arriving behind the Galactus Engine

Did anyone else notice that

Spoiler:
Death had reverted to her human form and was crying as she turned her back on Thanos?

I really liked the entire series. Wish it had been longer, a bit like Annihilation, and that cosmic Marvel doesn't end with this.

Nop, didn't notice. It's kind of enigmatic as an ending then.

i bet the cube kept the characters from dying or something

Could be. I have a theory about Starlord keeping the cube by jinn-wishing-it to have one more wish after he used it.

I miss Starlord. 🙁

Summary of the this event is pretty much...

Cancer survivors = evil conqueror individuals.

Perhaps. It was odd though because Surfer made it seem like it was all or nothing if G alone couldn't beat the Galactus Engine.

Then medusa decides to send in whatever ships were left to help him. Kind of comical if you think about it

Well way back in the Thanos maxi series, she told Thanos that she always loved him. That was my 2nd all time favorite Thanos run after the Infinity Gauntlet.

Great read. Was slow at first but had a good ending. It didn't have the benefit of supporting books but still pulled it off. I'm looking forward to the last book though. He's hoping it's just as good.

Gladiator should marry Medusa.

👆 yeah she did say that, and she also said that death isnt what she always wants as thats all she see's/is surrounded by.

Surfer is bias fanboy, while Medusa might not even know what Celestial is.

Hmmm.

Blackbolt will be coming back someday, I wonder how fun that situation would be.

Heh. Be careful where you tread. I basically helped engineer the power level labels used on the forums currently. And the very definition used for trans is anything above Surfer and beneath Skyafther level (with Odin being the most recognizable). So not only is "High Trans" on his doorstep, but his doorstep is the literal ceiling for the class. [/B]

I stand corrected 😕
