P90X is an excellent way to get in shape.
You should do the Raw Food Diet with it.
^ That page has a list of the benefits that the Raw Food diet has. It's pretty crazy. Some of the benefits are that it cures diabetes, gets rid of allergies, anti-aging, gets rid of acne and gets you perfect skin, increases energy, cures depression, improves vison, hearing, sense of smell, and then there's a whole shitload more that I don't really want to take the time to write.

Don't do it.
The best way is just doing 30 minutes to 2 hours of cardio a day, on top of your resistance training. Do cardio 3 times a week, and do it on the treadmill or elliptical.
Keep your heart rate at 60-70% of maximum (220 minus your age to find your maximum heart rate, then multiply that by .6 and then .7 to find your optimal fat burning heart rate.)
Eat 5-7 times a day. Smaller meals will be required if you can't stomach the meals you plan, in the beginning.
It takes hard work and dedication. There's no secret work outs. It's just hard work. Do be stupid and buy a workout. There's a million and 1 workouts on the internet, for free, that would be just as effective if not more so than some lame fad.

If he just did the same workouts every day, he'd run into the "plateau effect", and stop seeing results. P90X uses muscle confusion so that you constantly see results.
I've had like 3 friends that have used P90X, it worked for them.

P90X will work! If you follow the program.
But it's more beneficial to go to a gym, and get a professional to help show you the proper way to do everything. Because, all you hear about is the positive results.
Not the people injuring themselves because they don't know what they're doing.

Cool. But I didn't say to do the same thing every day. However, he's not a strength athlete, nor a body builder: he's trying to lose weight. It'd be hard for him to plateau on a simple "burn more calories than eaten", as long as he worked out smartly enough to optimally burn fat.

Another gimick. ON top of that, there's plenty of free workouts to be had on the internet.
How many bodybuilders do you know use P90X to get ready for a show?
