STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Chains

Question! How effecitve are Frag grenades against the walkers? Or do I not know that?

Also slight error, I wanted the Private guard in the Lower Quarters. With a Freed slave unit up by the Artilley.

Not a clue. Fragmentation grenades are really good at messing up squishy things.

Noted and edited.

Happy with everything then?

Yes. If I could also deploy an energy field to the Lower Quarters, aswell as the turret that would be rad. If not... Well either way lets get this started!

Attacking the Hangars from the Lower Quarters! Wentar, Altar and Loj'oon are leading this fight.

Pulling out the big guns early! Very well.

Having taken the hangars unopposed, the pirates have disabled any larger turbolasers that the bays possessed and deployed their men into the corridors. The great blast doors that locked them out have been blown inward with extreme amounts of explosives, giving them full access to the hangar levels.

It is when the main group of their forces tries to ascend the main stairway that leads to the lower quarters that they are met by Loj'oon. Standing at the top of these stairs, Loj'oon walks down slowly with his ray guns drawn. He is flanked by a pair of Jedi Knights- Wentar and Altar. Behind them- Loj'oon's personal guards, and behind THEM, groups of free men and women nervously clutching blaster rifles.

The first skirmish of the greater battle will take place on these stairs. Your objective- do not let the pirates reach the top! If there is a breach and the pirates reach the top in considerable force, you lose the skirmish.

Seems simple enough, though I am glad I have that gun deployed and the energy field. They should slow those pirates down.

Orthodox Guard, Reflection and Bodyguard please.

-

Wentar notes the nervousness of the men and women behind him, he unbuckles his lightsaber and turns to his soldiers.

"Our enemy below may seem intimidating, but we shall overcome them," he shouts in an attempt to rally his troops.

"They merely fight for corruption and greed, while we fight for our survival and our freedom. Here they have everything to lose, while we have everything to gain, that is why we will win here and in doing so show them that their way are doomed to fail.

Wentar raises and activates his lightsaber.

"For everyone who wishes to be free... To victory!"

Your speech is met with a deafening response of "TO VICTORY!"

"To victory!" Altar shouts beside you, mirroring your action with his own lightsaber, the green blade sparking to life.

Your freed slaves are positioned at the top of the stairs. Their position is advantageous to them as they fire down upon the pirates! They get a point of cover for where they are, and five of them get an extra two points from the energy shield you've deployed!

The auto-gun is stationed up there as well.

The pirates below begin their advance up the stairs. The stairwell is wide enough for ten to stand shoulder-to-shoulder. They are lead by Srum taskmasters, imposing figures wearing mismatched black armor and carrying repeaters.

What's the range here? Can the Srum at the bottom shoot at the freed slaves at the top and the other way around?

Yes, though the freed slaves have the higher ground and get a point of cover for it.

Alright! Also slight issue with the shticks! I did ask for Orthodox Guard, Reflection and Bodyguard, but in hindsight I'll totally have it as Focussed Guard, Reflection and Bodyguard instead 😛

-

If they get initiative Wentar will hold position up here, signaling Altar to do the same. Bodyguard on Loj'oon, Focused guard (If I can have it in) on one of the task master.

If we get initiative Wentar will instead move back to the level with the guards, tap Bodyguard onto them, focusing on a taskmaster.

Initiative goes to the pirates, who open fire at the orders of their taskmasters and start ascending the stairs. They're very organized for pirates, you notice. The majority open fire on the freed slaves atop the stairs, ignoring Loj'oon's guard for now. Five slaves die before they can even fight back, and one particularly good shot sneaks past the massive energy shield and burns another.

The Taskmasters take on Loj'oon's guard. Their light blast armor saves all but one from the heavy repeating guns those black-armored men wield.

Wentar, Altar, and Loj'oon then come under fire from five pirates each! Wentar handles his skillfully, combining his skills with a lightsaber and the protection of his new shield to bat lasers away. He manages two reflection kills!

Loj'oon stays clear, afforded by your Bodyguarding.

Altar Reflects a shot, then advances!

The guards trim down the enemy some, while the auto-gun rakes down one side of the stairway and takes out two pirates. The pirates are losing men fast!

Loj'oon picks out a Taskmaster and shoots at it, for 9 damage.

Things are looking well.

Focus on the Taskmaster.

They get initiative Wentar will advance down to Stairs 4, Bodyguard still on Loj'oon.

We get initiative Wentar will move back to Stairs 6 and tap Bodyguard and Reflection.

Initiative is yours!

Loj'oon follows you back into the company of his Guard, while Altar daringly charges forward! He Dashes down the stairs, blurring slightly as he rapidly descends on the pirates. He lands a blow on one of the taskmasters, sending a shower of sparks from its armor as he cleaves off a pauldron.

Loj'oon shoots the other as he backs up, turning back to line up some shots. Your forces shoot well this round and claim many of the pirates making their way up the stairs and around Altar. The auto-gun misses.

The advancing Taskmaster manages to kill one guard on a good roll, but your interference saves the others!

Altar takes some hits. The enemy's dwindling number means Wentar is not fired upon; Altar is a greater threat.

More pirates incoming!

"I've done all I can up here," Wentar says to Loj'oon. "I need to head down and back up Altar."

He points at Taskmaster A.

"Ignore him, I'll take him out on the way down. Focus on the thugs, deal with them and Altar will be able to handle that second task master just fine."

-

Swap out Bodyguard for Block and Wentar will advance to Stairs 5

Loj'oon gives you a deadpan look before blowing away the first taskmaster with a pair of bolts to the chest. He smirks.

"You were saying?" he says, smugly.

Altar lands another blow on the Taskmaster, carving a groove in its chestplate with his lightsaber.

The pirates are totally wiped from the stairs this turn! The lone Taskmaster rattles off shots at Altar.

"I'm beginning to suspect that I wasn't even needed here," Wentar replies with a slight smile.

Advance to Stairs 4 regardless of initiative, odds are that taskmaster will be dead before I get there though 😛

"You may have spoken too soon, my friend," Loj'oon says.

Now that the Jedi have been spotted, the pirates are moving their men to confront you. The walkers that were reported come stomping to the base of the stairs, accompanied by more men.

In any case, Altar runs that first Taskmaster through, and it is replaced by another.

Oh dear...

Advance to Stairs 3.

If one of those walkers fires at me I'd like it focused and focus guard tapped.

I would also like to know how many kills I could get if I tapped Reflection this turn, after the dice rolls.

Oh and I forgot, +1 Armor from Block please.

4-5... initiative to the Srum!

The Taskmaster orders the pirates to split their fire evenly- ten on the slaves, ten on the Jedi. Only one slave is lost to their shooting.

Altar puts on an impressive display. Flipping down the last bit of stair, he evades a great deal of gunfire coming his way and lands in the midst of the pirates. He slaps away a few shots before bouncing one pirate's blast into another, then cleaving that pirate's gun in twain and running him through. He whirls about and reflects two more bolts back at a pirate, cuts down a second, and again bounces a shot back with a strong snap of his blade.

One of the walkers draws bead on Wentar while he deflects incoming fire, scoring a Reflection kill (another two if he taps). The walker- a nimble three-legged thing with a single rider- bends down on its back leg and pumps blasts up the stairs at Wentar. Tapping Focused Guard means Wentar deflects these shots without harm.

The other walker mirrors the actions of the first, though instead it picks out Loj'oon's guard as a threat. It vaporizes two of them in its volley.

Loj'oon tests the armor of the walkers while your forces return fire. He discovers that the pilot is too well protected by armor plating for the reformed pirate to get at.

Srum (G5) x12

----

More Srum arrive to replace the eighteen men that were just massacred. Now that the battle is joined, reinforcements will be arriving every turn.

As mentioned, Wentar has a potential two extra kills by tapping Reflection.

I will take that tap, gonna need to thin these numbers asap.

Swap Focused Guard for Orthodox Guard.

Wentar will advance to Stairs 2, attacking the most threatening thing in range if the Srum move up.

Oh Oh! Don't know why this too so long for me to think of considering past (Future) experience.

How long would it take to cut open that walker? So... say, Wentar can slip inside and take control of it?
