Iffa and the Hsrik remain tied with three successes each. You both lift the log without problem.

Next- a large rock.

Iffa lifts it!

This time both of you try to lift... and for some reason, you just do not have a good grip on that rock. Iffa shows no successes! The Hsrik only rolls two when he needed three. Iffa loses three points and the Hsrik loses one.

Since both of you failed to lift the rock, you must try again!

'Another go?' suggests Iffa

The Hsrik grunts his agreement and goes again.

This time, you roll three successes exactly and lift the rock.

The Hsrik is still struggling with his lift, but since you succeeded, he loses a point and you move on to the next object.

Rather simply, the next challenge is a larger rock.

Me lift big rock!

Iffa shows his impressive strength by hoisting the rock up, rolling the needed four successes!

The Hsrik does not do nearly as well and drops the rock before lifting it very high.

Having passed 10 by the fifth round, Iffa wins this part of the challenge!

Iffa bows gracefully to the Hrisk, not wanting to appear triumphant

The Hsrik storms off as the next test is arranged for him.

"Are you sure he's not just going to get angry and murder you?" Seth asks.

"Not sure, no," replies Iffa, "but they value strength."

"That much is obvious," Seth says. "But they certainly don't have a reputation as a trustworthy people. You'd better hope the Hsrik keeps his word..."

"I'm more concerned about the pirates," Aurel says. "Their diplomat is probably relaying what's going on right now."

"that's true..." Iffa replies, "Seth, could you perhaps 'interfere' with his transmissions?"

Seth grins.

"Gladly," Seth says. "I'll see to it that it is handled."

"Handle it QUIETLY," Aurel says. "We don't want the Hsrik calling everything off because his pirate contact has gone missing..."

"No worries," Seth says. "I've got this."

"Good," replies Iffa, "but I agree with Aurelius - the quieter the better..."

Seth departs to have his way with the pirate.

"Let's hope he doesn't make a mess," Aurel says.

It is time for the next challenge!

TEST OF ATHLETICISM

The Garans have set up a series of obstacles for you and the Hsrik to bypass. Each one is increasingly difficult due to height or length. There are ten obstacles in all, and it is a race to the finish. The first to reach the end is the victor.

Each obstacle will require a certain number of successes to pass, based on Agility rolls.

The important question is this. Is Iffa going to use the Force to enhance his performance at all?

Of course he is! But only at the end if they get too tricky. I might even do a Great leap and bypass the last 3 in one bound! Hehehe!

Indeed- this challenge should be a cakewalk for Iffa. So will Leaping be inactive to start things off?

Initially, yes....

Okay! Each section will have a random Difficult, as I draw from a deck of ten cards.

Obstacle 1 is... Hurdles: Make three rolls as you throw yourself over sets of hurdles made from logs. Difficulty: Normal, 2 successes per roll

Iffa throws himself over each hurdle will relative ease... 3, 3, and 3! The Hsrik stumbles over the last one and smashes it in frustration, so he is slightly behind.
