"Stand and take it," the Hsrik says. "Or it is forfeit."

"Very well," replies Iffa. "And are we barehanded for this? Do we use weapons?"

And I'm assuming using Force powers such as Balance for this counts as trying to move?

The Hsrik requests that you be barehanded.

Using Balance would be considered trying to dodge the punch.

(As a note- any xp purchases you recently made can be used!)

Would any force use be classified as dodging, if used defensively?

Indeed it would be. It would be an active effort to avoid taking a hit.

Yet an aggressive use would be fine? Perhaps Strike?

Oh, anything offensive works just fine!

Good! I think Strike seems most appropriate.

Want to throw an offensive tap in there? Because you can.

Well, don't mind if I do!

I think a tap of Martial Arts will be called for, assuming it's barehanded.

TEST OF FORCE

No, not that kind...

The Hsrik is geared more toward armed conflict, though he seems confident that he can still knock you down. His only schtick that works unarmed is Assault, giving him a dice pool of 12! He rolls six successes, then taps it for an extra two successes. That's 9 damage!

Iffa then goes for his roll. Tapping Martial Artist gives you a pool of 12 dice, boosted up to 14 by the Hsrik's reckless use of Assault.

Your hand becomes a blur as it smashes into the Hsrik's chest, enhanced by Strike. Coupled with Strike and the Martial Artist tap, you deal a total of... 9 damage!

The Hsrik now views you as an equal, as your blows were of equal power. He agrees to join your fight and break off his deal with the pirates.

Iffa extends his hand.

"I am pleased to call you friend," he says. "Come, we must begin planning."

The allegiance of the Garans is a great accomplishment, here. However, not all has been resolved in the Garan encampment. You still have the issue of the pirate representative- Seth has tied him up and taken his communicator, at least.

The Hsrik is also not pleased that you have a Bollan in your group.

"We will take the pirate and ensure he faces justice," says Iffa.

"As for te Bollan, the partnership ensures Garans and Bollans work together to fight a greater evil - the swarm."

"I see," the Hsrik says. "You're trying to pull the planet together to fight the Swarm like last time, is that it? Let me tell you, it did not end well... the Bollans betrayed the Garans in that fight!"

"That is a lie!" Dar snarls. "It was the Hsrik of that time that tried to take control of the Swarm, instead of imprison it!"

"Whoever broke it," interjects Iffa, "is irrelevant. What is important is that neither side breaks the partnership this time. You have both agreed to work together. As a result I expect you to stick to your word."

"and if either side breaks it, they will have me to contend with."

The Hsrik laughs.

"What will you do if one of us crosses the other?" he asks. "Kill us? You are a Jedi; I know you won't do anything like that."

"He can make life very hard for you," Dar says.

The Hsrik just laughs. "He needs us just as much as he needs you."

"and you both need me," replies Iffa. "if we are going to defeat the swarm. Let us focus on the task in hand rather than concerning ourselves with future outcomes that, providing we all stick to the agreement, won't happen."

"He's right," Dar says. "The Swarm is the real issue. A permanent solution to the Swarm is needed."

The Hsrik agrees with Dar on this; the original solution was not a final one or the Swarm would not have returned.
