STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Cursed Swarm

At least they're agreeing with each other!

OK, let's have a planning meeting. Get everyone together and work out we know about the swarm.

First, what does Iffa already know about the Swarm?

Speaking of the Swarm, they haven't attacked you in some time.

Iffa knows there are different types of big within the swarm.
And that they are of the dark side.
And they came on a black meteorite before the Sith invasion.
And they were stopped before.
And they didn't attack when we approached the Garans.

That's about it I think!

Seth and Aurel remind you that the bigger insects make a high-pitched, heinous noise that makes you lose focus (which shows up in the form of a dice penalty, especially to your Force abilities).

And they really hate fire!

Iffa is keen to get suggestions from Seth, Dar and Hrisk about ways we could defeat the swarm. How localised is their activity?

Seth and Aurel aren't sure, aside from just needing to absolutely massacre the Swarm with every bit of firepower that can be brought against it.

The Hsrik and Dar have a different sort of contribution, however. The Swarm itself is a massive collection of killer insects. Such an entity needs a guiding hand. And they know where that can be found! The heart of the Swarm- its ferocious Queen.

I suspected as such. Remove the queen and the swarm are just a bunch of insects.

The Queen and her Swarm were, at one point, put into a sort of containment field by the Bollans of old, after their betrayal by the Garans and before they shunned technology. What triggered the return of the Swarm is, to the Hsrik's chagrin, the Garans helped the pirates pilfer some gear from the tomb-like structure that contained the Queen. Namely the high-powered generators that kept the energy fields in place.

So, the pirates have the energy transmitters?

They do. They ransacked the "tomb" for everything they could possibly used. The Garans received all their new weapons for their assistance.

So we would need to retrieve them?

If you are destroying the Swarm, that won't be necessary. They only trapped the Swarm last time because they could not hurt the Queen.

So presumably we know where the Queen is?

Yes. Beyond the Dark Forest (where the Garans dwell) is the Tomb of the Swarm, in a deep valley a day's march from the Garan encampment.

OK, well attacking the Queen is a must.

The Garans and the Bollans need to rally their forces if an assault on the Queen is to be launched. Only the Jedi will be able to strike at the Queen herself- her armored shell is extremely hard, if the legends are true, so only your lightsabers will be able to cut her down.

Everyone else will hold off the Swarm while you do the deed.

Sounds like a plan - take lots of fire!

While you are waiting for your armies to assemble for the fight, you have a little downtime. Do you want to do anything in particular before the fight?

Aurel reminds you that the crewmembers of the Dawntreader are still reluctant to join the fight. Trawley, the first mate, and Harvik, the bounty hunter, are with you but considering what they actually came here for. Their mission was to deliver supplies, not fight wars against monsters and pirates.

And none of this has been reported back to Captain Kart or the rest of the crew, who are laying low to avoid drawing the attention of the pirates above.

Then we should well report back, and persuade them to join the fight.

How do you wish to do that?
