USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

Dude, just go. You going back will likely result in nothing more than losing several characters.

Jovan Just don't be an idiot and get into the damn Terminal.
Wentar, just use your force powers, and get as much defence. And hope we get Initiative. You will be ok if we get initiate because they can't fire at you inside the terminal.

The flyers can't- the Yeomen can!

Could the Jedi further down draw the fire towards them with Presence, while Wentar decreases his visibility?

I know my ideas generally suck, but I love you guys and want you to succeed cry

Presence never trumps an easy target. It's a subtle power.

Also it is not a cloaking device. Wentar cannot decrease his visibility on an open bridge under fire!

Jovan, either stay behind and you will most likely get shot to hell along with the other two, who says you'll be able to draw enough fire power away from them. Who knows maybe the Force will favor you guys and throw something at the enemy but I think your priority would be to save your self. If you sacrifice yourself, all you are doing is potentially throwing away your survival on the off-chance that you'll help give them the extra distraction they needed to escape. I don't know. If you are going out, then so be it. The quicker you regroup the quicker you can reevaluate your situation. 😛

Can I blow the bridge now? lol

I'd like to note that Wentar, or any of us, wouldn't be in this situation if you had listened to me at turn 2 and dealt with the Yeomen to the South. Also I totes BG'd the Padawan's the other turn and they Dash off and leave me behind, damn kids!

Yeah, sorry mate.

The Padawans were under instruction. Don't blame them.

So blame Andro? 😛

Technically I can blame myself for not stopping him from dashing but still....

I haven't helped much either, so I am partially to blame.

(Andro already accepted some blame. His player got 'lost' and didn't quite understand which way he was supposed to be heading. I had some 'life' stuff going on and wasn't focussed. Sorry. In his defence, his advice was to hoof it, not try to wipe out all the enemies as we went. Speed was the key, Ush gave us enough hints about that.
Let's stop blaming now, and just get this over with. We (almost) all screwed up somewhere here. Wentar, just go with whatever defences you got, cross your fingers, and run.)

4-2; initiative is yours again.

For all the talk, Jovan hasn't actually posted an action. You haven't even brought your Guard back in. Jovan, your play standard right now is really more of a liability to the others than beneficial, and I relaly don;t want to hear any more of this suicide talk- if you don;lt want to play, I'll simply remove you from the game. If you do, then please do it properly!

Andro, the issue here was that in outrunning Wentar you have effectively abandoned him to be the only target of the bad guys. This isn't the Dark Side; that sort of behaviour gets noted- you made an exclusion for not outpacing Argo, but there was also your fellow payer to consider. Though equally, Wentar could have spoken up to say he didn't have Dash to keep up with the others... it's just another in a long list of co-ordination failures that is crippling Light Side play lately.

In the end, it is Argo who saves Wentar. I don't think you guys picked up on it, but Argo has been hero-worshipping Sunda, and has acted as he would. He puts down Essalin and Dashes to the men attacking Wentar, with a Guard tap, cutting one down.

Those of you in the terminal head north. You are at a corneer that bends left therefore heading to the west; therer is a t-junction halfway down that corridor and a corner turning left (which would bring you southwards) at the far side.

Gallagher- immediate danger from somewhere! There is no visible threat.

I'll go inside the terminal.

(No, I didn't realise I was going to out-run Wentar until it actually happened. I was in a hurry because I'm trying to get another Jedi to safety. If leaving somone behind is a no-no, why's everyone else in the terminal already? Everyone did their best to get there fast as possible, and that's what happened. Roan's inside already, asking his Padawan for advice, while part of his team is getting blown to bits back on the bridge, so I admit hanging back wasn't on my mind. Sorry, I just wasn't looking at it as a dark-side action, I was/am trying to save a teammate.

In my mind, Argo putting Essalin down is a bad thing because now she is in danger again. Now, is Andro perfectly willing to put Jelena down in a safe place and go back for Wentar? Absolutely, just doesn't seem like there's a safe place yet.

Now, don't take this as an angry rebuttal, it's not meant that way. I'm trying to understand where my thinking failed me. What I don't understand is where I went wrong, past lingering too long on the other side. I actually didn't realise we've made Wentar the sole target of the opposing force. with the people in the terminal nout out of the line of fire, wouldn't a certain amount of shots be going their way? Sure, Wentar's and easy target, but this seems like a large area; not so small and narrow that Wentar is simply in the way of most shots. Drawing from movies, as we sometimes do here, I don't recall any (not saying there's not) where an entire 'bad guy' force is firing exclusively on the easiest target. I figured we're all getting our share, adn was honestly worried for Andro making it across on his feet. Hence my hurry.

Sorry, long rambling, but I do try to be an active, productive
member of this group. I hate to be one that drags the group down, so I'm just trying to both explain myself and hopefully learn from this.)

"Argo, no!" Andro yells after his young charge, fearing for his safety. At the same time, he is surprised at the sudden swell of pride in his chest at the brave padawan's actions.

(Now, is there a safe place to lay Jelena, or hand her off to someone else to keep moving the wounded forward? If I can free myself up without endangering someone else, I'd like to go help cover Argo's retreat. Els, can I pick up Essalin too? I'm adduming Argo has Dash since I didn't lose him earlier, so I'd just call for him to follow us now that he's covered Wentar's retreat.)

What you are saying is you are incompetent...not evil? 😛

I ment to go into the tunnel with orthodox guard up for protection. I missed the last part.

It's clearly not a Dark Side action! It's just on the Dark Side, no comment gets passed on such a thing (other than a possible teamwork failure). But a Jedi has certain responsibilities to live up to. Your actions- indirectly- have placed Wentar in danger. The claim is not that it was malicious; the claim is a failure of duty. The Dark Siders have no such sense of duty; you do.

The issue is not that Wentar is getting in the way of the shots- it is far simpler than that. The Yeomen are firing at the nearest target. Why take a harder shot at the person behind? The nearest target is always going to be picked on. Seeing as you guys just butchered dozens of these people- well over a hundred, in fact- they want to make sure you are as far away from them as possible. Even in a straight gaming sense, though, they all fired at him the turn before and so you knew it was happening; you also directly rejected his distress call. And no, it's not easy! You have to make these decisions under heavy pressure and heavy damage. But the Light Side has its difficulties just as the Dark has. In the end, Wentar is crying abandonment, and he has a case.

But it's hardly you that has dragged the group down. The reason you were at the back whilst the others were at the front is because you and Wentar were the poor sods who has to go back and clear the Yeomen and then rescue the downed guys, and that was the fault of others. There is a great deal of shared responsibility here. But in the circumstances, no-one else could have done it- mRoan and Jovan were too hurt, Gallagher was rescuing someone else, and Sunda was needed to actually keep those up front alive. You guys were all that was left.

Essalin is not dead. Wentar WOULD be if Argo had not done that. Your reproof should be seen in light of that.

No, nowhere is safe, but there is an unburdened Jovan right by you...

Jovan, pick up Essallin and swap in Orthodox Guard. I'll respond to your PM soon.

Xeth is going to give Argo a goddamn hug when they have time for that.

(Cool. Sorry if I seem a little too impassioned, blame my Zoloft. And Bardock, that made me laugh. So yeah, we all screwed up somewhere, live (no pun) and learn.)

"Jovan, take Jelena for me, I've got to help Argo!" Andro hardly waits for an answer, and quickly but carefully transfers Jelena into his care.

(Ogu/CL/PS - Chop up two Yeomen to reduce return fire for our excape. Here's hoping Argo doesn't en dup carrying ME out!)

Reignighting his verdant blade, Andro charges after his brave Padawan. Sliding up next to Argo, blade blurring through Yeomen, he calls out to his Padawan, "Argo, time to go, the others are heading into the terminal now. We must catch them and put some distance between these enemies."

(Let's both Dash to cath the others next turn. w/ coordination.)
