"What's so special about the Kreel?" Xeth asks, cleaning his grenade launcher.

"The Kreel are special. Like you, Gallagher. And they are good at everything. Truly powerful."

Gallagher nods.

"Tell me about Lady Adelmo, then. And Kara Katai, if you know her."

"What you have to understand is that to be a Kreel is more a curse than a blessing. We don't know if it is some aspect of genetics, or the manner of their connection to the Harmony. Maybe it is just the nature of their sheer power. Sometimes I feel it is because they cannot find a place- they feel they can do everything, so they are not born to anything.

"Whatever the cause, Kreel have a difficult journey in life. They find it difficult to be harmonious. They become restless, aggressive. Often desirous of power. When a Kreel is born, it is the responsibility of all the Ladies to keep them on the right path. With Adelmo, we failed."

"You were unable to train her?" Gallagher asks.

"Well, I am younger than her; that was not my job. Nor was it the problem. Adelmo took to her training extremely well and became a respected Lady; she had a position of privilege and power here. But it wasn't enough."

"I think I know this story..."

"It may not be quite as you think," says Thea. "You see, ever since the Last War of Men, we've held to a firm principle on Thalos. It is very hard to keep this world in Harmony. Everything we do is dedicated to that end. And that is just this world alone. To hold it so is an enormous task. External elements would be... disharmonious. We keep to ourselves. We discourage wider contact. That is the root of Aquila's fear of you. My view of you in particular may be different, but the principle is sacred to us."

"What do you mean by Harmony?"

I believe that was already explained...

"So what happened with Adelmo next? Did she try and overthrow the consul in a bid for more power?" Wentar asks.

Wentar is also interested in learning the language, he might not be as skilled as Jelena but if we're going to help Thea secure her position here it would be nifty.

"It wasn't power here that she wanted," says Thea. "Like I said, we keep ourselves to ourselves. Adelmo thought we were mistaken. She wanted to take the Harmony to the stars."

"So she did just that'" Gallagher says.

"I don't think you understand the implications of that," says Thea. "I already told you- Harmony is something that is kept on Thalos. With effort. Adelmo was not planning to just go and talk to people about it."

"Then what was her plan?" Gallagher says.

Well, let's see if you smart kids can put together what Adelmo wanted.

Hmmm, perhaps the Harmony isn't the Force itself, but something different, closely connected to the Force? A physical thing that causes so many people on one planet to be force potent and to actively separate the Living and Cosmic sides within people.

Swing and a miss?

"What is this 'Last War of Men' you mention?" Wentar asks, curious.

Miss! It's the same thing. You are being far too conceptual about what it is Adelmo wants; it is actually pretty straightforward. Think about the way this world is run.

Thea is slightly surprised you don't know what it is. "This world was not always a harmonious one," she says. "It was torn apart in many wars over time. Some of which we fought on the side of the Jedi Republic."

She wants a women run universe? Or a similar government galactic wide?

"I'm not too much of a history buff, sorry," Wentar says. "Though I would like to hear more. Which wars would these be?"

"I thought you might know better than us. Much of our history from that time does not survive; it was many millennia ago. We fought with you against the Sith.

"But eventually we came to realise that the greatest threat to Harmony was from the men. They caused and prolonged all of the great wars of that time. After their Last War, we had enough- we said no more.

"Ever since then the Ladies have run Thalos in Harmony. The Jedi Republic offered us membership, but we declined, until it had come up to our standards."

Meanwhile, she will explain about Adelmo, as you are in the right area.

"She wanted to enforce the Harmony not just on one world, but over the Galaxy entire. And purge it of the disharmonious."
