Denzral tries to cover up a slight hesitation and is off put buy the way this man seems to carry himself, his mannerisms seeming a little 'off'? He didn't know. He turned and gave a slight bow. "Kir Ascar, Chief of Staff to Senator Riordan. Greetings." Denzral is unsure why this man is here, but knows he must have something to do with this lead, the trouble the man had been in was probably why Master Windu does not trust this 'lead' that had been mentioned. "I am..."

Gallagher raises an eyebrow at this Kir Ascar character, sensing quite keenly the emotional shift in the room, particularly from Xeth. What does Gallagher sense about Kir himself?

Upon seeing Kir Ascar, Xeth is flooded by ill memories of his past dealings with the man- the podrace, the Malastare three-way battle, the search on Nar Shaddaa, the duel in Ascar's office with Kuylen, Ascar turning himself over to Senator Riordan who was implied to dapple in slavery, evading capture by the Jedi...

Xeth begins swearing vehemently in Geonosian.

Ascar rises an eyebrow. "Now really, Xeth. Such language is hardly appropriate in the Council Chamber."

Hmm. Hard to tell what you sense there, Gallagher. He's very calm.

"To be sure, I didn't think I would ever find myself back in the Temple again either. I've not set foot here since I was a padawan. But life always has its interesting twists and turns, doesn't it?"

"Mr. Ascar thinks he has some pertinent information for us," says Ithrorn.

"Anything I can do to help," says Ascar. "And to fulfil my end of the agreement, of course."

"Oh?" Denzral studies this man a little closer. What can I sense?

Similar, Denz. A man with very great control over his emotions.

Oh man, now that he's involved we are sure to be in for a ride!

Vlad nods his head in a greeting, containing his emotions. With this man around... He is going to have to be a he'll lot more cautious.

"I can see what you were trying to say, Master..." says Vlad in Mace's direction. "And may I ask exactly what our end of the agreement is?"

"Well, that is simple," says Ascar. "This further act of public service from me completes my plea bargain arrangements with the courts and hence ends my probation restrictions."

(That sounds like a double-edged sword.)

Andro stands calmly, observing the conversation. He has no idea what the history is, but clearly many people in this room do not care much for him. Hearing the man speak is enough to turn him off, so actually dealing with him must be a nightmare. Very curious what all this is about, Andro carefully hold his tongue to see where the conversation goes.

How much can Ascar really help? Denz asked himself, knowing full well that this man was not always good news. He felt uncomfortable and looked out at the vista of buildings and speeders beyong the sky-windows of the council chamber. "What kind of information do you believe will be of service to us, Askar?" Denzral asked, turning his head and smiling as warmly as he could.

Ascar likes to meddle around with old Sith artifacts, and seems to be very interested in the history of the Sith. The problem? This guy will withhold from us the most important parts of his information and get us all screwed over. He isn't too fond of the Jedi.

Noted. Can I use my persuation skill to get him to tell us everything he knows?

Not likely, Ascar is a powerful force user from what I read. Also I think he had an interest in all ancient artifacts, Jedi or Sith. I doubt he'll screw us over though, he has nothing to gain from it.

What exactly did he have to gain when he 'forgot' to mention to us that Nebb speaks basic? He gains nothing from telling us any extra information that might help our cause. He will tell us enough for us to complete our end of the agreement.

Don't post until you do. Only then will you understand the sh.it we are in. This is especially good for the newer players. Some of this stuff is very old and coming back around again. The pirates we fought, yea the same Pelloran... Ascar is from the same era.
Ascar is hardcore.
He's got his hands in everything, trying to out puppet even Kuylen, so his appearance here is not good.

The guy really is hardcore. Two of his apprentices turned to the dark side, and I have no idea why the council would even let him into the temple...

Roan, standing slightly aloof, slightly shielding Sunda from Ascar, as if he were to suddenly lunge at him asks "And what might that be?"
