"Bite your tongue lest I remove it," Xeth snarls. "I suffered so many grievances for your manipulation! Your dealings with Kuylen led to a small war on Malastare! Your students killed people until I put an end to Majora and ran Persis off! You tried throwing me off a building, Sannan!!!"
For the record... Ascar is a Light Sider, though he does not personally believe such. Xeth is the only person to have been present for the earlier beef with him. He showed up to bug Vlad and Jelena later...
"What may or may not have heard is of no real importance to your reason for being here," Jelena says, ignoring Ascar's comments on her looks. "Now, you are only trying to get reactions out of us. Patience is something all Jedi should have... but it can wear thin."
Jelena cocks her head to one side, studying Ascar.
"From what I recall... you were trained in the Force after you left the Order. Might I warrant a guess at Sirckara being the place you wish to take us?"
His side is a fuzzy area. He's not on the Dark Side though- he has control of his emotions. As Xeth said, he doesn't actually believe in Light and Dark- he has a very different view of the Force.
Ascar- for thos eof you that do not know a maan of phenomenal talent with the Force but absolutely no patience for instruction (either receiving or giving) left the Temple far too early to be considered a Jedi at all- he had only just stopped being s Youngling.
I don't think you did, Gallagher- I think you came in just after he finished his spiel with you guys in Episode I- though it was Ascar who revealed Nebb's trick to you all.

Ascar gives a short laugh.
"Sirckara? My word no; I won't take you anywhere near there. There's nothing for any of you there. Muddled thinking, Jelena- did you really think this Kara Katai came from the same place I learned about the truth of the Force? Our styles are hardly similar. No, I have somewhere different in mind.
"Or.." he says, turning to Xeth, "if you don't like the idea, I can simply not help you at all. We'll see how well you do finding information without my help. I should remind you, though, that is t was your intervention, not mne, that caused the issues on Malastare. I had Kuylen under control until you came blundering in- and you didn't even get what you came for. The Council clearly agreed, as they proscribed your activities afterwards. The actions of my studnets, of course, pain me greatly- as do the stresses that led to that... ah... pushing incident. But I have done my time and paid my debt to society. Are you telling me you do not believe in forgiveness and redemption, Xeth?"
"We are not here to discuss the past," says Mundi. "The situation is simply this. We want this lead investigated. See what it is that Ascar has to show you. WHilst he is with you, you are responsible for guarding him under his probationary rules. However, if you decide that what he shows you IS useful... then you are to let him go."
"I have very little incentive to lead you astray," says Ascar.
Vlad stood beside the Jedi, looking cautiously at Ascar. He met the man before, but most of the infamous info that Vlad had on him was through Master Marcus's detailed recital of his past adventures. Yet, there was nothig to be done. The Council's decision has to be respected and they will have to be accompanied by Ascar.
"It will be done, Master Mundi" replies Vlad, bowing his head
Well, it appears so!
You have a long journey ahead of you. Ascar gives you a sector reference as to which part of spacer you are heading out ot. It is a LONG way out of the Republic; completely the other side of space to which you have mostly been operating in these last few years- except for Wentar, in NEw Blood, as it is over in the Golden Serpent's area of control. Though frankly, way beyond even that.
There are no named systems in that area of space. They've never been charted- or as far as you know, even visited officially.
