USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

Started by Ushgarak328 pages

Wentar- yes and yes. Fix-It rolls needed. Plenty of droid parts around at the hotspots where fighting is! You spend a turn fiddling with your handset- could take a little bit to get something useful.

-

Xeth- ok, you've found some! Just some custodial staff. (the Telanians take great pride in the neatness of the vaults)

-

Jovan- you can be getting the Telanians to do much more useful things than they are.

-

Roan- Telanians all over the plae around here! All admin and clerical workers. Address them as you will!

-

Gallagher- what are you actually now looking for?

-

Iffa- you are a strong man, but it takes both your hands to move this thing. Vera will have to cover you! It is starting to close...

Luckily, Vera does just that; initiative is yours this round and she hacks down the last droids there before five moire emerge.

-

Lacking anything else, Jelena, you fight on, though you feel pressured!

Essalin has basic Lifting...

-

Tilulla to the battle! You attack five on a walkway at first; more will come to you now pretty quickly as they register the threat. You are not by the vault doors; you are a little way away.

They turn as you approach.

'What the...' one of them says as you hack it in half. Be assured that that was spectacular overkill! You rolled nine successes; you only needed 2.

They'll fire back next turn.

Swap Forward Guard for Focused Guard. So:

Block (choosing +1 Defense)
Bodyguard (guarding civilian(s)?)
Focused Guard (nearest droid for the extra Parry)

How many attack die do they get? I figure the +3 defense can drag this on for a while.

...

I slice a droid quickly in two, then three, announcing myself to my attackers. "Not so tough," I whisper under my breath. There are lots. My eyes keep darting around, looking for something to help even the odds.

Ush, you said I could get into advantageous position, but there are no dead ends and presumably no high ground. Without any convenient plot devices around, is there any anomalies in the terrain or area I might exploit?

If it's moving, I'll keep pushing.

Oh, when I said advantageous position I meant you could get the drop on them- hence them not firing back. There is, literally, cover around but unless you were planning to gun duel them, cover is not much use to a Jedi. I also assumed you went for them in an area where only five of them wer eoriginally there and the others would then come to you, rather than trying to take on as many at once as quickly as possible.

They roll six dice and hence get three against you with your defensive Guard up. That's not much but in the numbers Battle Droids come in, it mounts up very fast indeed if it is instead four or five dice. With three dice off and a point of armour from block, you are very resilient.

If you are looking for extra tactical options- you an go up and down much faster than they can., There are walkways above and below.

Alright, that helps, thanks. I'll zigzag walkways as I attack, trying to keep as few as possible line of sight of me.

I go up first.

Good that I'm resilient, I'm stalling right now while I mow down some droids. I'll form a new plan once I see how quickly I'm racking up damage.

Ok.

So you know, going up to another walkway will give you cover against them which, combined with your defences, will make you rather hard to hit. Of course, you wouldn't be destroying any.

Aren't they coming after me? I have a glow sword and clearly intimidating posture.

If not, I engage the 5, I'll use the walkways later.

Unfortunately, even battle droids are not dumb enough to walk into you when you are in firing range anyway. If you do not go to them, they won't be in melee range.

It's the big downside of being a Jedi, in contrast to which you are stupidly lethal.

Lacking anything else, Jelena, you fight on, though you feel pressured!

Essalin has basic Lifting...[/b]

That is good news!

"Essallin," Jelena says. "Use the Force to push the vault door closed! We can seal it after with those metal beams. I'll protect you!"

Jelena will let Essallin focus on that while she stands her ground between the droids and her Padawan, deflecting bolts and chopping into one that comes too close.

-

Roan, go ahead and tell them what you need done and what they need to say. We want the Telanians to communicate to each other to tell us where we need to go.

Xeth will make sure the Telanians are unharmed! Then he will ask them if they have a means of communicating with headquarters, where Roan is.

"Keep pushing!" Vera-Kin says to Iffa as the new set of droids emerges. She bounds over and dismantles a pair of the machines before they can draw bead on Iffa or herself.

I am not sure if I am understanding you correctly with "to do much more useful things than they are ".

Can you rephrase this please?
I can understand "to do much more useful things than that" ... like they can act as a comlink: one goes to command center and one follows me around, if we find another one he can join a jedi we will probably find fighting a droid etc...

But I do not understand "than they are"... They are insects but can do more than talk and fly you mean? Like, they have weird eyes so they can see more than humans?

No, I just meant right now they are doing nothing other than panicking and moving out.You can get them to do other stuff.

Fair enough, I engage the 5. Same schticks as last noted.

Now I get it. Are there more Telanians near me who I can command?

About a dozen. 'Command' is overdoing it though. 'Ask for help' is the thing.

Then I will ask them to help me out: if they can use their buzzes to communicate, we can coordinate the help effort and can help the other Jedi. To emphasis this, I want to stress that Katai, the one we've been trying to stop since the get-go is behind this. She's creating the mayhem, destroying vaults in the process and endangering other Telanians!

They can help tip the balance back to our side by helping us out and bringing justice to the one who is destroying their property and killing their people!

You guys are now sharing initiative with the Dark Side, and they are rolling like crap so you lose it this turn.

This means they get two shots at Mithlond, not in a position to deflect, before Vera gets tot hem. Nasty, but he can take it! Then Vera hacks two down and things are back to normal. She got a bit shot up herself though.

Iffa- one more push and the vault door will have swing enough to start to slow their exit!

-

Only one of the groups is close to Jelena and she takes down one; only one more will be in range for her and still allow her to protect Essalin. straining, she raises her hand and closes her eyes... the door begins to stir!

-

Tilulla deflects two shots entirely- one thanks to Parry- but one of the droids rolls damn well and makes her work harder. She takes down one, but now another five, alerted, are racing up from behind them.

-

Xeth- sure! They can get messages there and back.

And likewise, Roan has now sent out a bunch of them to talk to you guys!

Jovan does the same! That;s three groups now!

(Ok, I'm in the comms center and comms systems that can seek signals don't work. So I'm the proverbial monkey with the football. If someone has a suggestion on making Andro useful let me know. Otherwise I'll try to join the fight and stay up as long as I can...)

Yeah, sadly tech stuff isn't quote your thing, Andro!
