USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

Started by Vera21328 pages

Swap Reflection for Block. Vera-Kin finishes off her opponents quickly a few well-placed jabs.

Would Vera-Kin be able to start closing the vault door from the upper levels, with a combination of her cover and Coordination and Balanced Guard protecting her? That way we have less droids coming out and can finish these off.

Gallagher does not give up so easily, though that last volley has exhausted him. He gives chase, jumping after Katai with a running leap. If his jump brings him range for an attack, he takes another swing at Katai. If not, he uses Coordination to defend himself when she returns fire.

"Come on, D'an!" Gallagher shouts to encourage his Padawan.

Yup!

-

Whether you get to her will depend on initiative and your Agility roll, Gallagher.

Okay. For reference next turn, is there any additional cover that Vera-Kin could take on the upper area?

She is still going ahead with her attack right now.

I will just cross my fingers then, unless a Great Leap would help me catch up anyway.

In that case Iffa will tap Cleave and jump down.

There appears to only be one droid on my level. I finish it off, then process to the next higher level.

I don't suppose the Telanians know any shortcuts to get to the search adds?

This time initiative goes against you (though still with those at C, a turn behind).

Vera and Tilulla get their targets; Iffa dives back down into the attack, getting four points of protection from his Cleave tap.

(No decent cover I am afraid, no)

The droids then fire back. Iffa is their primary target but half of them go for Vera or Tilulla; random roll says the extra goes for Vera. Seven blast Iffa pretty damn well, blowing through his Cleave protection and hitting him hard, though he does get a bounce kill.

Four blast up at Vera; she is well defended up there though.

Three blast down at Tilulla- an open target to them with no Defence bonus. She won't last long with no Guard up.

-

Katai has attached herself to the side of one of the vaults and walks backwards up it, firing at Gallagher. With her taps she is not hitting you quite so hard now, but she rolls quite well.

You jump up at her... but with her getting initiative your roll needs to be very good and it is not. She is now high enough up the vault that you will have to blow a force point to jump that high.

It's not a matter of catching up- you don't move faster with a Leap.

-

Xeth- no, the idea of a shortcut in such an environment makes no sense. You are not in a building; you are heading a long way down between various walkways and stairwells.

-

Jelena and Wentar, you have now reached the rough area you were directed to. You have paused as requested. This is an area of several vaults; you know the one that Roan has identified.

-

Jovan, you have now reached the rough area of the fighting. Rushing in will get you there sooner, or you can be more cautious to get more control over what you do.

Community spirit, guys! Why didn't anyone warn Tilulla about tapping her only defence?

Meanwhile, Tilulla, I accidentally let you do this earlier as it didn't occur to me that you wouldn't have it- but indeed, you didn't take Leaping. That being so, you absolutely cannot move freely between the walkways., You'll need to find ladders or stairs...

..., or, much more practically, I highly recommend you shift around your character and get Leaping in if you want to be the action hero type.

I thought the tap would be best used early with more droids up, less useful as they were killed. Didn't work out, but there was at least some logic behind my decision.

😮

I will take you up on your offer, Ush. Not enough time atm to figure out what I'm dropping for Leaping, but thanks.

Indeed I did get that vibe and it was not so outrageous a decision that I wanted to veto it myself.

From a strategic view, it may have worked better if you'd gone up top where you would have had cover from the droids to use after you tapped out, or if Vera was not also worried about her damage levels (being old and wrinkly) and so was planning to draw back herself, leaving more fire coming at you.

Of course, hindsight is 20/20 and you do at least have Block which has saved you some 15 damage this fight.

Btw- and I forgot this myself- you could have used Co-ordination when fleeing the droids earlier. Any time when not attacking it is worth reminding me if you have that.

If I am feeling nice, I'l let you go into an xp debt to simply buy Leaping as of now.

I'll take it easy, it might give me a chance to enter from behind or to at least surprise her for a second.

The Talonian needs to back off and buzz around that Katai has been found and that we need all the help we can get!
It needs to use the other Tal's to "amplify" this so we can reach more people.

Ok Jovan, but you cannot actually surprise Katai any more than you can a Jedi... however, you will try and get a good position on her.

Gallagher will spend the point to jump after her, determined not to let her get away that easy. He tries to slash at her when he gets the opportunity.

Coordination if I don't get to attack due to distance or initiative.

There are other things higher on the list for me than Leaping, even with its uses. I'll do a swap...will solidify it tonight.

Swap Cleave for Carnival of Carnage.

And still hacking a droid to pieces I assume, yes?

Yup!

Yeah, I was going to say something to Tillula, but then I reconsidered it. I thought it wasn't a half bad idea to tap with that many droids up.

-

Anyway. Can Wentar spot any droids in the area? Can we tell if droids have passed through here at all?

"Jelena, Essalin, stay sharp," Wentar says. "Those droids are tricky to sense, though we should be able to hear them easily enough."
