My recommendation is bringing in Dodge & Weave so that you can tap it and go for an attack on a droid this turn (preferably the solo one so you can get away after).

Then, next turn, everyone jump up to the top level so that Iffa can go for a droid gun and start blasting away, Ti can give him some mild protection with Bodyguard, and Vera-Kin can start closing the door.

Sound like a good idea, guys?

Would be a better idea if Tilulla actually had Leaping...

-

It's a bit clustered around here, Wentar. Climbing up will take more time.

And me and Jelena pool our rolls to get a more accurate reading on if we're in the right place or not?

Nope, only the best roll is taken as you are in the same place. So, your initial roll tells you that... well, I can only say you have been moving in roughly the right direction.

People are dying every turn you delay, btw.

-

Ok Xeth, here goes! Well, that first roll didn't go very well. You are a bit tentative so far! You get down one platform, but no faster than walking thus far.

-

Gallagher leaps up, and D'an follows! Katai is walking backwards along the vault top, still firing at you.

And Jovan is on the field!

-

Vera hacks down a droid as Iffa and Tilulla come in barehanded! Iffa smashes one down whilst Tilulla gives an enormous whack to on that sees it flung over the railing and down far below. I can;t give you the Whirling Strike tap though Tilulla- you aren't armed.

For a moment, you guys are on top of it... though then another five emerge, inevitably.

Iffa- you should jump up this turn and grab a gun. Swap in Eye of the Storm.

Ti- look for a way up.

Vera-Kin is going to chop down a droid. Swap out CL.

Swap DW for Eye of the storm, leap up and grab a gun.

I thought I pulled out a gun while I was climbing up. Was I not allowed to do that? I was a bit surprised to see myself charging in unarmed this last turn.

Ti- look for a way up.

Ush is letting me use Game Genie for some cheat codes here, since I'm new and still forming my character...so I think I have this covered.

Ush, you suggested Leaping to be the action-type that my profile suggests. And I'm realizing that Force points are generally great when **** is hitting the fan, which seems to be during combat a bit more so than out of combat.

So here's my new proposal:
Push/Pull
Sense (+Mastery: Empathy, Scan)
Presence
Intuition
Swiftness (+Mastery: Strike, Evade, Dash)
Coodination

Dropping (+Mastery: Empathy, Scan), adding Leaping.

...to everyone else, I always intend any changes to be my last, as this will undoubtedly be, but I thank you for your patience.

...

I leap, and if I get a chance I pull out a gun (if I wasn't able to earlier).

Combat schticks don't use Guns! That's Gun schticks. Armed combat schticks use melee weapons.

Christ. I know these things. Things get foggy when I learn them, then this is the first chance I've had to implement them.

It's okay Tillula! If it's any consolation my first time in combat ended with me forgetting to bodyguard an npc that would have won us a battle, him dying caused us to fail that part of the overall war. So right now you're doing pretty well.

-

You raise a very important point Ush! Wentar will move to the vault Roan indicated, preferably from above to try avoid any nasty surprises.

At least if it's wrong we're still in the kinda right direction.

No worries, digi- this whole thing will be cracked for you by the end of the fight and then you'll be all kick-ass henceforth!

Also bear in mind this is an end-of-episode fight, so pretty much unfairly hard to drop a newbie into!

Also something to keep in mind Ti.
Combat Schticks/unarmed combat are usually a last resort thing as your lightsaber is an ultimate killing machine. Guns are handy when you need to attack from a distance or want to do something like Xeth did when the vault just opened.
Lightsabers are super useful, and they stab things excessively well.

Roan's right about that!

Xeth tries again, having landed flatly rather than gained any speed. He jumps off and down again.

Ok, slight delay as I have to mention something- though we are waiting on the Katai guys anyway.

Iffa and Tilulla, you are both currently adjacent to two droids each. You cannot disengage from combat at that range without giving free attacks to your enemies against which no defences function- not without the use of a Disengage power. Iffa, you have such a power in Defensive Leap. You also BOTH have it in the form of tapping Whirling Strike- but that's an armed Combat schtick. You;d need to draw your melee weapons- so this is as good a time as any for you guys to state what kind of melee weapon you generally carry with you (other than your sabre). Remember, if you have the skill you are entitled to the weapon, so neither of you are obliged to pick up crappy droid guns. Pick a gun type also. Yes, you two are both very heavily armed!

(Remember that disengagement thing, Vera!)

Now, Vera could also target one of the droids you are next to and lessen the problem, but it needs to be co-ordinated. Generally, though, you fairly much commit to melee when you go in, especially when you cannot afford to take damage.

I'll go for Vibro Axe and Heavy Blaster.
Tap Whirling Strike!

Now I know you guys are all "Hey, its my first combat and I want to do cool things," But remember, without your sabers you are actually only a little better than the droids.

If you look at the Ush's "State of Combat" Thing (Which I've pasted below), it shows you. The first score in the parentheses is your combat rating, or how many die you roll. Ti you have a rating of 8, Iffa you have one of 7. The droids have a rating of 6. Now note Vera, with a massive saber rating of 12. So she is already at twice the die that the droids are while you guys only have a 1 or 2 die advantage

So, now with your 7 die Ti, you only have about a ~45% chance of killing a droid, while Vera with her massive 12 die has an almost 70% chance of getting a kill.
Now if you have any sort of useful weapon, say an Axe, sword, Hand-Held-Commercial-Grain-Thresher, or Lightsaber, they are considered to be especially powerful and need one less success, rocketing Vera up to an almost certain kill, and increasing the odds on your combat scores greatly.

An additional thing to understand/use. We are at an endpoint in the campian. This means that at the end of this fight/wrap up, the episode will end, and your force points will reset! This is important, especially if you are like me and blew all your force points early and now are basically useless. For you guys it gives you a big-ol' advantage. You were plopped into the story late, meaning you still have all of your force points, and can use them without fear of being stranded force-less. So use them! If you have coordination mastered, you can spend a point and get use ward, which grant the effects of Coordination (the extra defense) while still making an attack! Force Powers do not depend on you holding a lightsaber, so look at your powers and see what you can use to stay alive and destroy the rest of the droids!

The Force Powers suggestion now goes for everyone. End of story guys! Lets go to town!

Gallagher I would particularly recommend using Combat Push (As you are probably the only one of us who would be able to pull that off against Katai [Additional Note, would using Combat Push serve to send her little darts flying back at her? If so, thats awesome and Gallagher should do that]) And Strike. You arn't the best swordsman Gallagher, but you do have a good reserve of power and should use that to your advantage. You also have Guidance, which allows you to basically buy successes with force points, so keep that in mind.

Lets all survive! Ready! Go Team!

Tilulla (C8) 1(1A)/55 [ForGu DW FE] [FocGu BL BG] (5F) (vault area)

Iffa (C7) 3/59 [OGu DW WS] [MA RF CL CC] (5F) (vault area)

Vera (LS12) 2(2A)/34 [BGu CL8 BL] [RF OGu] (1F) (vault area)

Droids x1 (C6) (vault area)

Droids x4 (C6) (vault area)

Droids x5 (C6) (vault area)

Sabres also hit on 4s.

(Also note that the droids' rating is actually only 4 but they get +2 to their pool for spray firing their rifles, pretty much a mook-only option)

Do remember that Acolytes are not very good at Force Attacks... they are the passive Force type.

-

The only problem with a big weapon like a vibro-axe is that it may be disallowed in some game situations as that is a big thing to be carrying at your side. It's fine for this fight though.

Thanks Tpt. I do know the power of the saber over other weapons. I had to switch out to tap some Defensive schticks that I couldn't with a lightsaber...my character is on death's door.

The Force Point reminder is a good one though.

I, too, will be tapping Whirling Strike. I guess I'll go with a Vibro-Pike and...Assault Blaster? Heavy blaster is that's not possible.

They are both fine. Normally it is an action to draw your weapon (another advantage of sabres- being small + Swiftness power means they draw for free) but I am sure you would already have drawn if I had made this clear earlier so we're good.

Xeth uses a pike! A Renegade tradition in the making...

Oh! I should mention- the other disadvantage of a large melee weapon is that it is also an action to put the darn thing away, You can always just drop it though.

(Sabres are free to put away of course)

Sorry, digi, I mixed up blaster types. Assault blasters are rubbish- they are for mooks. Heavy it is!

-

Well, we'll have to catch up with the Katai situation later...

-

Xeth- not exactly at high speed yet, but a tad better. Bear in mind if you fail a roll at any point you take damage.

-

Initiative to you guys!

I am guessing you meant to swap out your Guard for Whirling Strike, Tilulla.

Iffa and Tilulla both take down droids with their weapons; their Whirling Strike tap means they disengage with an upwards flip and., now we know Tilulla CAN Leap after all, those same leaps see the soaring upwards!

After Vera downs another, she becomes their primary target, bit her Cleave protection holds! Furthermore, the droids roll poorly trying to shoot up at Iffa and Tilulla; their cover from being on a walkway above keeps them safe for now.

-

Wentar and Jelena, you have reached the vault- another one of about warehouse size. It seems quiet around here. What's the plan?
