"Senator Greyshade..." Jelena muses, having come with Roan to answer the call. As much as she wants to find out what Katai was after, the political world holds great interest for Jelena. "Where have I heard that name before..."

Jelena will try to recall what she knows about Senator Greyshade and the world he represents using Savoir-Faire.

Yea, I'll do that too.
[Meta] He has a small entry on Wookiepedia, but I don't know how that will tie into this [/meta]

He was one of the more progressive Senators representing several less prosperous regions.

More importantly, he was one of the campaigners behind the Financial Reform Act, the troubled passage of which is the crisis the Council refers to. There's a virtual civil war in the Senate over its passage- something the Chancellor is keen to get through- and this is being replicated by great tension out in the member worlds. Palpatine was elected on a promise of reform, but none of it has happened yet. This was supposed to be the big step but a LOT of worlds oppose it; some Senators and heads of state of the worlds further out have said that this is Coruscant's last chance to prove its good intentions.

Jelena supports the Financial Reform Act, since it would assist those worlds further out and keep the Republic unified. She is disappointed that Senator Greyshade has been assassinated, especially since he was one of the few Senators willing to champion the Act.

"What is it that you wish us to do in the aftermath of this tragedy?" Jelena asks the Council.

Things were already tense. Now one of the Senators supporting it has been killed right in the middle of Coruscant. The outer worlds are going berserk! Protests, demonstrations... riots, even. There's civil disorder all over and there are not enough Jedi to cover it all. Yours is the largest Jedi team currently assigned galaxy-wide and you are already quite far out. They need you ready to intervene if any of this turns truly serious.

Is Gallagher in any shape to be quelling riots with his leg all shot through?

Luckily, all damage has been healed in the intervening weeks! Yay!

Everyone can restore half their maximum Force pool also. Plus another two for Gallagher.

I'll take half? Round up or down?

I have to ask. If we didn't use all of our Force points, does that get added to our pool? Or is everyone set at half?

Either way, Gallagher won't complain about that. He will have been meditating a great deal to heal quickly and regain some of the strength he expended during their mission.

"Are there planets in the area that we should be watchful of?" Gallagher asks the Council. "Any situations that need our immediate attention?"

What is D'an's opinion on the Financial Reform Act? He seems to be the well-read type that would know about this sort of thing.

Ok to clarify- everyone gains a number of force points equal to half of their maximum, to the limit of their maximum. Gallagher gains another two, though still limited to his maximum.

Round down.

I'm working on the vault, so I have no idea about what's happening yet.

Jelena will wait for the answer to Gallagher's question.

(And yay healing and points! Definitely needed it.)

Andro is there as well, and shows his concern.

"Well, we could be headed anywhere then, and potentially at any time. What do we need to do to square things away here?"

The FRA is so complex that it is hard to read- the public are almost entirely disengaged from its literal meaning but its stated intent was to increase transparency in financial dealings and make it clear where exactly Republic money was flowing, a first step in making sure it is better distributed.

As recommended by the Mandragos Commission!

Master Vera-Kin is going to stay with the Jedi for their mission. She wants to curry favor with the Council in order to improve her status with them.

Should the Mandragos Commission sound familiar?

Vera will echo the inquiry about where they think they'll be needed most, or even if the group should split up and go to multiple locations to keep stability.

how should we handle the mop-up here? let the bugs sort it out? How can we then know important things don't get lost?

Simple answer- you can't guarantee anything. But this crisis is more important; they need every Jedi they can get.

Gallagher takes a second to compose himself when the Mandragos Committee gets mentioned.

Just so my brain is confirmed, the Mandragos Committee is the thing set up by Sienar to supposedly provide aid to poorer worlds, but was going to end up being so corrupt that nothing useful came of it, right?

Right now the Mandragos Committee's remit is to control funding for emergency situations, like the growing famine problem. They backed the FRA- and even recommended many of its provisions that got adopted- on the grounds it would make it easier to get aid out to poorer worlds.
