Initiative goes 5-4 to you!

In one of those typical pieces of luck, Argo and Andro do not do so well this turn in helping their friends, bringing down one between them. Xeth gets one, though only due to Whirling Strike. Wentat and Vlad have to share a kill also.

Vera's streak ends as she compleyely misses. Only one kill from the inner people as Jelena and Gallagher get one together.

The outer ring people do well to avoid damage this turn.

Four from the outer circle can help now!

And continue as before, slash and hack. What can I use?

You'd probably be better off barehanded, Denzral. You have Martial Artist giving you extra dice, after all.

Xeth will attack a bior in the inner circle again, slashing it down before it gets to one of the Padawans. Armed attack.

Ok I'll attack bare handed.

Swap out DW, Wentar will make an unarmed attack on one of the inner circle Biors.

(Another machette attack, inner circle.)

Armed Strike, outer circle

Vlad will do the same as he did last turn. Attack a Bior, and tap Twin Weapons if he gets a success for another kill.

3-5 gives initiative to them.

And this ferocious assault is too much for Vera- she goes down. Blimey, folks, you should be using your force powers before you let that happen. Several of you who have options, especially with the Force, are just standing there and taking it as if you can't do anything.

Twin Weapons has to attack the same target I am afraid.

Ah, a pity. Vlad will try and kill another Bior.

Well, you win initiative next round- and that is it! The furious bior are finally forced into retreat, scattering away...

Well, awesome.
Can we try to get Vera patched up a bit?

Gallagher looks at the dead and fallen bior around them and expresses his exasperation with the situation by throwing his machete on the ground.

"What a waste of time!" Gallagher says, waving at the bior that have died about them. His white robes are stained with alien blood and littered with feathers. "Now we are in no shape to be fighting the Merongam!"

"The wounded should be tended to," Jelena says, maintaining her professional demeanor despite being very rattled by the experience with the bior. "I am going to meditate."

Jelena will spend a Force point on Revitalize, to regain some of her strength by holding communion with the Force.

Wentar rubs his eyes, before looking over at his injured companions, wondering how they can comfortably deal with the Merongam now.

"We really should have seen that coming," he sighs, shaking his head.

"We should rest and heal our wounds... and ponder how we can prevent such a beating in the future."

Assuming you guys get to safer ground, there is indeed time for a basic (no multiplier) use of Medicine. Vera can be healed, but her skills are unavailable for the rest of this section of the story as she convalesces.

Revitalise spend noted! Gallagher also gains a Force point.

Sunda is cleaning his blades.

"Damn things," he says, after Andro speaks. "They need wiping out. No wonder the Atrii stay in the caves."

"They are only doing what is natural to them," says D'an.

"Oh, what, am I supposed to feel sorry we killed them?" says Sunda.

"We had a right to defend ourselves. That's natural as well. But we are the intruders here."

Sunda only just stops himself saying a rude word in response to that.

"F...orget that! I don't give a damn about what is 'natural'. Given the choice between them and the people back there, the people win out every time. Those are proper beings!"

"They are all part of the Force," says D'an.

"So is dying! Don't try telling me that they have as much right to live as proper thinking PEOPLE do! Look at Coruscant! They wiped out all the natural habitats there millennia ago; are we supposed to charge them for that? We're Jedi! We are here to protect PEOPLE. Not animals."

"All a bit above me," says Argo, helping Essalin bandage a wound.

"There's always a balance to be found," says Essalin.

"There are enough damn planets full of wildlife out there," says Sunda. "We cannot possibly be expected to protect all that. People matter. Animals don't. We eat the damn things! And if I have learned anything from travelling with my master, it's that there's never an easy way out. There's no magical solution where everyone is happy."

He kicks a branch on the ground.

"What the hell are we doing out here anyway? Is this some kind of joke?"

"Maybe it is," says Argo. "I can't see Ascar ever having done a thing like this. And he was on his own."

"Padawans, Jedi have a responsibility to Life, not just people. Yes, there may be a prioroty to who gets to live if a choice must be made, but animals are not there for us to kill as we please. As Essalin said, there is a balance. Animals can matter, as you should very well know. On any given world, the indigenous animals without exception area base of that planet's ecosystem. If a specials fails, that system is diminished or severely damaged. Other species may follow for any number of reasons.."

Andro cuts himself off, "Anyhow, there is a lot more to that nature lesson that apparently some of you could benefit from. Later. Now we have more pressing issues now. Let's get the healing done and move on. I agree with Argo, and I beleive there is more to this than a simple tribal initiation. Yes, that 'wheel' could have come up with something within Ascar's reach, and don't discount him entirely in a situation like this, but I do not trust the man. I think he is playing a very dangerous game with us."

Something hits him just then. "Master Vera, perhaps you should be escorted back for your safety. While there, I would imagine that you might have some very interesting conversations with Ascar. Just a suggestion, of course."

The Vera wouldn't be one of the tribe, and the initiation would fall apart.

"How do you explain Coruscant, then?" asks Sunda. "And laws are for people."

Hmm. (will heal as much as possible)
