USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (LIGHT SIDE)- Harmony

This is all true. You are missing a link.

Yes we are. We don't know what actually scared the Merongam into stampeding. The bior are scavengers, and probably only attacked us because we were encroaching on their food source. Something else is in the food chain, here. Probably something big.

Ok, so, now we have something to work with!

Survival tracking to find these mysterious predators?

Thing is what are we going to do when we find them? If they're nastier then our goal we don't really wanna get too close to them.

Survival rolls to find them indeed.

Ok... dumdum away! I mean I'll roll survival.

Denz makes his roll!

He surmises that as the larger wounds on the dead merongam are form the lower portions of the bodies on the ground- leaving the bior for the top- this is likely a creature considerably smaller than the merongam. Tracks in the general area back this up- some kind of fast raptor.

I tell the group what I have figured to be the cause and effect on what we are looking for.

Xeth wants to check if the wounds from the Merongams' stomaches and lower areas seem like they were made by a single creature or by several. Things seem to travel in groups on this uncharted planet of the Atrii.

Definitely a group.

Fast raptors in groups. Not good.

Xeth postulates that, in order to scare the Merongam, they need to figure out what these raptors do, if anything special beyond simply slashing them up from below.

Can Xeth also tell if maybe the Merongams' armor is weaker across the stomach, in a Smaug-esque way?

I read the OT threads... Raptors just sound plain bad all 'round.

Though we still need more information I think it'd be a safer task to scare the Merongam towards the Raptors then try lead the Raptors to the Merongam.

I'm assuming they can run faster then us. 😛

Safer but no good of you want to lead one to the other. You couldn't scare the Merongam in any particular direction.

Xeth- the wounds on those creatures were all inflicted AFTER they fell.

How about luring the raptors with their blood?

(Planning discussion aside, does anyone else feel that luring animals to their doom, or hacking at them to scare them to their doom is not very light-sidey?
Consider the type of animal we're after as well. If it was some sort of ferocious/dangerous Atrii-hunting predator, or if we were feeding starving Atrii with tons of Merognam meat, those could be considered community-service type tasks. But now that we can see we're just trashing a whole herd of what likely seem to be peaceful herbivores to 'buy' the natives information is starting to feel a little dirty.)

indeed, but it also means that we can bring them meat which in turn gives them a chance to give more to their children.

Ah well, you kinda argued against yourself there, Andro. You were one of those giving the lecture on the balance of nature etc.

Well, part of that balance is that the Atrii eat the Merongam.

(Well, if we're feeding the Atrii, that's fine.)

So scaring the Merongam into a stampede is not going to be very effective as we cannot control which way they go.

If Xeth has observed that the wounds were inflicted after the Merongam fell, then the raptors must trust the Merongam to stampede themselves. We determined that to be the cause of death, I believe. Or at least the cause for being unable to get away from the raptors.

Can Gallagher see any broken legs in those that don't appear to have been trampled to death?

I don't think you have the skillset for that.
