told you guys not to say we're jedi 😛

we need to land at a safe distance and get those shooters... unfortately, I'm useless as always.

Land at a safe distance? These Pilot rolls are to stop you being blown to pieces at once. The good option is to only be shot down.

To summarise; I am turning into the wave of missiles and throwing my fighter into a tight spin and firing my blasters a quickly as they can recycle straight ahead into the wave of rockets hopefully hitting a few. I'll worry about shields later, if I can get through the wave of missiles. However if I can get my shields up too, maybe get Soapy to work on that one, then 'Yay!'. But I think I am asking too much in the time I think is available to try to stay flying.

No Jinks Master here, probably a good idea to pick that up sometime... Anyway, Wentar is going to try pull away from the missile fire. He can't out run them but he'd like to try put as much distance between his ship and the people shooting him right now.

Xeth has Daredevil and Jinks Master, if that helps him any.

"I officially dislike Thalos!" Xeth snarls as he takes evasive maneuvers.

Roan is just activating the comms when the first missile strikes the ship. Immediately, the internal lights flicker and die, and he is fighting to hold it together. Three successes keeps it up for now. The ship is on fire.

Xeth, just behind, doesn't know what is going on until he sees the explosion on the Spirit in front. He pulls away- more to get out of the way of Roan's ship that has bucked up like a rearing horse than anything else- and finds himself flying into part of the volley that shot over Roan. Two successes rolled, but Jinks Master makes Xeth good at this. He too takes a single major strike before the shields are up. Something detaches from the ship and falls away, and he only just misses a collision with Roan.

Wentar sees the scene in front of him almost as a dream, as both ships are alight. The missile spread is very wide; rocket after rocket is firing from batteries inside the hangar. They cannot possibly have had those there for general purposes- there's no room to land. The whole bay has been turned into a death trap. He rolls three successes like Roan; pulling up like mad, a missile explodes on his wing, blowing the end off of it and losing his stabilisers.

Denz rolls a single success. His fighter is right in the middle of the rocket spread and there is no escape. Explosions rock all over the ship, and Soapy gives an electronic shriek as his mounting his hit; his side is blown away. Your engines are afire; you are going down immediately- even if you could keep her up, the strain would blow the reactor.

Jelena rolls two successes. The scene in front of her is a mass of rockets, explosions and debris from her friends' ships. She doesn't know if she took a rocket strike or hit part of a ship, but the explosion takes out her sensor suite and smoke is disgorging everywhere. She is flying blind.

Oh no! Could spending a point on Guidance here to gain a third success help Jelena any?

Xeth wastes no time in getting the shields up after the first missile hits, and then focuses all of his attention on getting clear of the debris and missiles coming his way.

Gallagher takes hold of D'an and finds something to hang onto.

Yes, a Force point on Guidance will get you a third success, Jelena, and will mean you are hit but can see.

Xeth- you are out of the rocket cloud, but there are missiles firing from the city defences now- they've locked onto you.

This city is armed for war.

Jelena will do so, then. Flying blind would be dreadful right now.

Spent!

"Vera, Jovan, hang on!" Xeth shouts. "R3, get me a scan of the city defenses, I'm going to wreck their shit if they think they can take me out with a sucker punch!"

Xeth will throw the Nexu's Grin into defensive maneuvers until he can get a lock on something meaningful, intending to help his friends by fighting back. He powers up his weapons system and prepares to do battle with the entire city.

R3 reports that the city has an extensively well connected defence grid but that there are gaps- unfinished, perhaps? It's all new, certainly.

However, YOU are in the most concentrated part. He can give you a target, but those missiles will most certainly hit you if you turn to attack.

Just before whatever hits Sunlit Dancer does so, Jelena gets a twinge of influence from the Force so that the impact is not quite as bad as it could have been. While the sensor suite is wrecked, the smoke is not so bad that it clouds her vision, and she tries to take her ship in low, below the sweep of the missile launchers.

"Essallin, strap in!" Jelena says. "See if you can help me hold the ship together!"

Essalin tells you that Denz is going down. She's lost track of the others- and that you've been locked on to by tracking missiles.

Xeth will relay his astromech's finds to the others.

"My R3 unit has found gaps in the defense grid!" Xeth reports. "Try to land or we'll all be blown to bits!"

Xeth is going to aim for one of the gaps, so that he can reevaluate his position and try to mount a return strike.

Ok, well, there are the buildings of a city in the way.

Your comms are not working.

Also a missile is about to hit you.

"The Force will see our friends out of this," Jelena says. "For now we worry about ourselves!"

Jelena will attempt to bring the Dancer in low to evade the tracking systems and moving for one of those gaps that Xeth informs those still in the air about. She wants to go help Denzral as soon as she can, but she can't if she has already been blown to pieces.

Xeth didn't inform you of anything.
