How do handheld shields work, rules-wise?

And likewise ranged weapons like slingshots or bows, do they work with Combat Schticks?

They provide parry from certain attacks, at a penalty to pool.

Schticks cannot be used on such improvised weapons I am afraid.

Hmm... in that case, I say we only split it three ways. Ixnay on the ranged weapons, they probably wouldn't make that great a difference in our assault.

During all of the planning, Relle is going to talk to Xavier about the slingshot.

"Can I convince you to give it to me?" Relle asks.

Relle is okay with the plan. Shields would be nice but we can deal without them I think, if we need to make the bridges and jam the door thing.

Bridge and door-jamming thing should be the priorities. Shields can come once we have what we need for that, but they won't help much if we've got no way across the trenches or to keep the doors open once they're open.

Yeah, basically. If we can put those two things together first and see where we stand after that, we can put together a few shields.

I agree with this reasoning.

Shields will probably just be going to the non-fighters anyway, like Gallador. 😉

The lady annoys us Xavier very much and it is our prize

"As long as I get it back it then you can use it," Xavier says to Relle handing her the slingshot.

Let's do the shields then. Between Xavier, Galder, Dak, Rah, and Orikan, we should be able to slap things together just fine.

I'm guessing because nobody opposed what I said that people are down for shields, bridges, and the giant door stop.

He's not big on physical exertion.
