Rand will close his eyes for dramatic effect and regal his vision.
You hear the harsh voice of the four-armed alien. Syphar n Kalar! It must be yours!
But for now... you see a prisoner you must rescue from Datura, though you do not know why.
You will recognise the prisoner when you see him or her.
"It was Ranto," Rand says. "I recognized him immediately."
Oh, now Rand has revealed his vision...
I'd hate for you guys to think that Ranto is ANY good for the SNK. That would have been Foresight, not Manifest Destiny.
If you are looking for the super secret way in which Ranto is going to magically transform your fortunes... there isn't one.
But there is a very simple way in which he's not entirely useless as far as going to Black is concerned- though as before, forget about any stealth whilst he is there.

Bait for the trogs so we can get through Blue quickly? 😄
Hell, Rand just being himself is bait.
As long as we don't have to use oxygen on him, Galder is fine with taking the frog. Especially if Rand is going to put up a stupid pointless fight if we try to NOT take him (which probably involves murdering Ranto and THEN Rand).
I'd rather be mostly intact when we go down there.
So, time to be practical. You are very soon to leave Red and head down. Please now describe to me any final preparations and some idea of group structure...
... and what you are taking with you.
Long story short for the rest- Almir will come; Rah is right. He has no future here. Orikan will stay; he thinks he can do well.
Chunn will come because he;s bored.
