USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (DARK SIDE)- The Prisoner of Datura

Started by Ushgarak438 pages

"We're all born with purpose where I come from. But your friends... colleagues seem so random and unfocussed. Some tried crude offers of power with me. I don't understand your ways. I wondered if you were different. My Lady said you were."

This should be finished shortly. Rand continues to bring Chunn across the chasm, setting the big bastard down beside him once he is safely clear of the drop.

"Hold them back until Rah rejoins us," Rand says to the others.

Edna is amused at the thought of Galder's companions tryng to bribe or buy this woman's services when she clearly values her gift of foresight above all else and would have absolutely no use for anything they could possibly offer her. She is a curiously confident woman unswerving in her commitment to her beliefs. Edana wonders what it would be like to be so assured in one's own being.

She shakes such philosophical thoughts from her head. "Maybe I am different. I'm not sure I would know. I spent the past few years searching for what I thought must be my purpose in life but I think it more likely that my true purpose is yet to reveal itself. I guess you wouldn't know what it feels like to spend your life striving to be something without really knowing what that thing is." Edana trails off thoughtful once more then adds "I envy you".

"I wouldn't" she says. "I spent my life with other people planning it out for me."

You are heading towards the starport area- but not the civilian one. You are heading to the part used by the Emperor's forces.

Refresh round!

Initiative is yours, which goes well. Chunn is over, though bear in mind it is now full there...

Now Rah has a problem... because he doesn't have an axe. It broke ages ago. He'll have to untie it, and the trogs are beating on him.

(Sometimes it's paying attention to the details, folks...)

Umm... Sorry but when did the axe break, given he hasn't used it any fights until now?

Sorry to be picky Ush but I've gone back through the thread and there is no mention of breaking his axe, one moment he has it, the next it is gone without explanation

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=526014&pagenumber=227

So how's about my chopping through the ropes?

Hmm, I clearly have it down as broken- I specifically remember typing it out; it must have been in the one where I lost the copy when it was delayed-, and you do have an armed schtick loaded. But ok, you can have the axe.

Thanks for that, I thought I was going loopy then for moment. In that case Rah will get to chopping through the ropes, hopefully both of them before the axe breaks...

Dak will take down another trog. Swap in IM for FE.

With nothing else to say, Edna, you complete the journey to the starport.

Due to the riot, security here is extremely light as the guards have all been called out. You walk through without being stopped.

You are heading towards a bay where an enormous transport ship is docked. It is about as big as you get for ships that actually land on a planet (as opposed to being one you would shuttle up to that never lands), but at least a third of it is virtually wasted- as it is a giant metal block. It's like someone has bolted a huge metallic slab onto the fore of the vessel, and from what you can tell the metal is mostly made up of re-processed junk.

It must make the ship hideously inefficient and hard to control.

So this must the one of the ships that takes prisoners to the Datura, Edana realises as she gets nearer the vessel. Edna is curious why it needs to be so large. Clearly this woman is planning on rescuing Galder and co via the same transport on which they went there. Surely they'll never get back on board unnoticed - it's not like anyone get's a return ticket!

As you get close to the ship, a side hatch opens. It reveals a tall woman dressed in a very similar way t the girl you are with- but her long hair is blonde, not black. The two women nod at each other, and the blonde girl beckons you on board.

I am guessing Edana's danger sense is still not ringing. In which case she may as well head on in. No where else to be!

The ship is strangely empty. There are almost no crew members on board, and those that you go past in the main corridor avert their eyes from you all.

You are being taken to the control deck at the front.

Edna feels like this isn't the time to talk so decides to keep quiet until her escorts reach where they are heading for.

The door to the main deck opens, revealing a standard grey flight deck. It's not very large; these ships have few complicated systems and are not designed for large crews.

The view out of the front port is not impressive, being as it is simply a view of that giant metal block bolted onto the ship.

Instead of the crew, all that is in here is a group of women, all dressed like the ones you have seen. The dark-haired girl you are with stands off to one side; the blonde joins the group in the middle. There are seven women now standing in that group, all dressed in black and with long hair that is either blonde or black. They are standing in a line shortly behind the captain's chair.

In that chair sits an older woman- not elderly, but clearly older. She turns around in the chair to see you as you come in. Her most distinctive feature is her hair- it is pure white. Your instincts tell you she is someone of great significance indeed.

"Ah, you must be Edana," she says in a measured voice as the door coses shut behind you. "I am the Lady Adelmo."

Edana takes a moment to take in her new all female surroundings. She's not sure she has ever actually been in a room full of all women before, unless they were whores of course which these ladies clearly were not! She looks at the white haired lady for a while before shrugging and finally saying (having ha enough of pretending to know what is going on) "I guess my reputation, good or bad has preceeded me. I can't say the same of you though. You'll have to forgive me, but who are you exactly?"

"I am simply the Lady Adelmo, and that is all anyone needs to know. Not to be offensive, but you do not have a reputation. That is, I am sure, intentional- you keep a low profile, which is smart.

"I have the power to see many things, including things which are hidden, But in your case, I needed no special insight. I knew who you were already. I would like to have met you long ago- but your Master did not want it."

"You knew Kuylen?" Edana asks with surprise. Knew - Edana still isn't quite convinced that Kuylen could still be alive. "Why would Kuylen have wanted to keep us from meeting? And why would I have been of any interest to you?" Edna stops, suddenly aware of her outburst of questions.
