USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE V (DARK SIDE)- The Prisoner of Datura

I don't suppose there some way to use fix it to create a homing signal for the comlinks so that when someone finds a way they can activate it?

or do like Dak says and use markings?

As if the mass of all of you hacking chunks out the walls with your sabres will spontaneously create an understandable system, despite all the doubling back and corssing of paths involved!

And even if you knew what direction their signal was in, it would still be a nightmare to find.

And this even assumes the sewers are not guarded!

...hey, if the sewers are guarded the guards would know the way!

You don't want a fight before you get there.

Who needs a fight? Dak and Rianna can sneak in and grab someone from the shadows. Tell them we won't kill them if they guide us.

And he guides you past all the other guards invisibly, eh?

Yes.

...uh...

Some of you could probably make it through the sewers. I just feel the group is too large for it to work as a whole. Someone's roll will go wrong.

...Psychos, jump in.

See ya, Forcies!

Seriously, though, can anyone think of a useful thing?

There is no hassle free option, so do not consider all my objections as rejections. The air tansport idea from earlier was NOT impossible, just difficult.

Okay. Small group of sneaky people go through the sewers. Another group steals a car and flies over the crowd to get to the center from above.

That may just be the best option, really. Other than just...waiting in line.

To warn, splititng the group for such an operation is VERY risky. If your co-ordination is not perfect you'll screw it.

Well, then I'd still go for the flying speeder option, perhaps we can exit before landing and start the attack, so that the pilots have time to land?

Well, if we are going to use the sewers, dont risk it with threats, just let me lie our way through there. i could tell him "we are the tax-collectors personal advisory counsel, and the streets are too dangourus for us to take, and we are supposed to be kept a secret from the general public." or something like that

I don't know about that. Even if something was meant to be a secret from the general public, you'd think any guards would know of it - and if we were trying to pose as something like that, we would have been with the collector from the very start. For lies to work, they need to be plausible.

Also, no offense, but Rand and Gallador are much better at Lying - they're our social frontmen for a reason (though Gallador still talks too much! 😛).

But at least whatever he says people believe.

Assuming Rianna doesn't kick him mid-sentence to get him to shut up.

(it has happened before.)

But yeah, magicturtle, don't take what I said the wrong way or anything. It's just that when it comes to plans, it works best to keep as simple as possible. We mess up enough as it is. Things that involve lies or trying to persuade people - same thing. And it's always best to play to a character's strengths - we're not going to, say, send Gallador into an unarmed fight, or Rianna to participate in anything diplomatic. Compare what you've got to what everyone else is good at, figure out what your strengths and weaknesses are, and keep them in mind.

Lying, IS my strength, im a thief/con-man, thats my backround and what my characters abilities and stats are based on....so, if you come up with a different strength for me, tell me... because im drawing a black on that one other than lying

Yes, but background means nothing if the stats don't back it up, and fact is, we have much better liars in the group. Persuade you're better at, and in fact are the best in the group at that - Relle is the only other character with that high of a score in it, though Gallador comes close. Combine that with the fact that you've got Presence mastered means that you're definitely no slouch with that sort of thing. That is your strength, by a long shot.

But Lying/Persuasion isn't going to help much in this situation.

At any rate, as you get used to playing you figure out very quickly what you're best with. Give it time and keep any advice we give in mind.
