As if Rand needs to ask for approval. Undoubtedly he can convince Gallador, Azarl, and Haron to help him out with convincing the crowd to step aside for their brutal and non-altruistic Robin Hoods. And not everyone has the physical aptitude to hop over the roofs comfortably.

I think Rand does need to ask for approval 😛

Gallador will continue to help Rand.

"This is the first strike against the tyranny of Rivas, people of the Void! Come and get your money back, but ones who shall not make the way for us shall perish by our Force Powers and sabres!" - He shouts, directing the people towards Nom`s corpse in a way that makes way open towards the starport.

Yup I don't really think it matters too much how we screw up our escape plan just as long as we get caught 😛

Ok, then that is how it is. With Rand and Gallador, the crowd is no obstacle, and the rest of you know the roof route.

Hence, you guys get to the starport- to be confronted by dozens of guards, and Xavier's ship taking off with his pilot yelling out "So long, suckers!" as it speeds into space.

This, then, is your moment to make it all look convincing, as the guards order you to drop your weapons...

Xavier looks to the sky and shouts, "Backstabber!!!"

Then jumps at the guards ready to strike.

Someone may want to do something about that...

Why's that

Because if you attack them they'll shoot to kill- not actually the plan.

...damn. Yeah, we don't want to die, but us simply giving up isn't very believable...

Well we could play possum then try and take them in a fist fight. They wouldn't use lethal force then right?

Yes. You just butchered everyone in your last fight.

Perhaps one of us could act, after stopping Xavier, saying something like "****, there's no way out. Just drop your weapons" or whatever, does it look like such an overwhelming number that fighting would be insane?

There is really so many of them that we have no chance, right?

"Xavier, stop!" Yells Gallador. "Without the ship, we can not fight our way alive from this!"

He turns to the guards.

"So, it seems we are noticed now... I shall surrender if you bring me to your Emperor, I will not waste my time with lowly minions! I am sure he is wise enough to consider getting in good terms with such mighty people as we are."

He acts like arrogance incarnated.

I doubt you would all get out of it- it IS a trap you deliberately organised for yourselves after all.

But even assuming you could kill all of them- what would that get you?

Well, killing all of them probably wouldn't get us to Datura, that's for sure...

(and doesn't Gallador always act like arrogance incarnate? 😛)

Well if it's just a handful, then it would be suspicious that we surrender, and we'd have to think of a better cover, that's why I was asking, not cause I wanted to kill them all.
