Make-a-lantern!

It sounds like despair lanterns would be more interested in enlightening others as to why they should despair, rather than attempting to end despair.

So, yeah, what Alvis said.

If Geoff Johns asked me to retcon the whole emotional spectrum, I would make one change:

I would have emotions/emotional states that were truly opposite each other.

Love/hate

Fear/bravery

Hope/despair

Rage/serenity

Joy/sadness (although happy/sad lanterns sounds lame)

And these lanterns would cancel each other out. I think Johns started to show this with the whole red/green and blue/yellow power drains. Hope draining fear I can understand, but rage draining will power?? If anything rage would bolster ones will.

It IS ironic that the piece that fits the least within this whole puzzle is the initial building block, the GL's.

Restructured, I suppose they should be something along the lines of courage. Not that that's necessarily an emotion still, but something like a joy-fueled interstellar warrior would make for a pretty cheesy read.

But then why does the Star Sapphire's have no effect on willpower? Logically everytime a SS was near a GL the porn music should be cued (BOWCHIKKAWOWCHIKKAWOWWOW) and the intergalactic lovin' ensues!

I do like how John's has the different colours affect each other in different ways, like how Red drains the Green or how Blue is not offensive but can drain yellow, Douse Red and is somewhat resistant to Orange.
