i'll be leaving that to the competitors. i know people enjoy drafting and an opportunity to use different characters. also prevents someone from learning too much from a match, so . . .
i am willing to allow a redraft if the players so wish. i'd actually prefer it, personally, but i defer to those competing.
Wait, seriously?! Jesus, I thought we were done after the transition between round robin and playoffs.
I'd vote against, personally. I never mind redrafts and understand that it's more exciting from a spectator's PoV. But I draft who I want, and feel odd when I almost feel obligated to switch my team so that I don't just sit idle while letting others adapt to my team (which isn't always the case when there's more competitors, but would definitely be the case in the finals). It's also more work, which I again don't mind, but it comes after putting in a fair amount of work last redraft only to use those characters for 1 match.
Delph's tourney did redrafts every round. I got burnt out. This tourney's been about simplicity. Let's keep it that way.

i figured since it's a different round, it would be fresh like the previous one it was to the initial one.so digi's a no, but i guess it's up to charlotte, and it's better she cast early before the judgments come in for our match obviously.
Technically it's up to me and whoever wins your match. I doubt we should be counting both votes, just the one of whoever wins. It can't come out as more than a tie in that scenario, and I guess leo would be the tiebreak.

I doubt Leo would be willing to act as the tiebreak

I know I'm not involved (and have never done one of these things), but I personally don't think they should redraft. I really enjoyed reading the first couple matches when people had to change their strategies each round instead of picking new characters. It was fun watching what kind of different things they came up with for their combatants, and how they had an advantage over people who used the same strategy as before.
On another note, I've never watched one of these before, and I'm really enjoying the structured debates (and the general knowledge) of the posters. The Comic Book 'Versus' Forum gets annoying when you read a couple fanboys restating the same opinions, which is almost always followed by petty name calling. These debates have kept me VERY entertained for the past couple weeks, so thank you all.

Instead of redrafting you can just trade characters with other competitors?I don't think anyone would like to switch, but it would be a case of non-drafting then, so not very different.
frankly my team is getting stale. *shrugs*
all right, since one wants to keep teams, and the other wants to redraft teams, we'll just split things. i'll allow a team to switch up to 2 members if they so desire. however, the picks will not be made in thread--they will be pm'd to me and kept anonymous until the match begins. match will start FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT, and END the FOLLOWING FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT. 12 posts max.
if anyone has any really strong objections to this ruling, let me know. there is nothing that says you HAVE to switch out though, and no one will know whether you did or didn't until the match begins. you have til friday at 5:00 to pm me your picks and for me to ok them.

I don't think that's a very good idea. This whole tourney people have had the opportunity to prep against their opponents characters, and you're removing that. Nothing wrong with doing anonymous characters, but when planning a tourney you should probably stick to one or another.
allows one to keep their team if they so choose though. i'll let digi and pg decide if they like it. to do it in a public forum really makes it difficult to keep your team as is though, if the other makes a switch, as strategies have already been made manifest.

I'm fine with the drafting method, and here's why:
The whole we've seen the others' drafts, yes, but there have been many teams involved. We couldn't pick just to counter a specific team, we had to build a rounded team for ourselves against any opponent. But with the finals, it would be drafting specifically against someone else's picks, and would take away the need for a "good team" and just turn it into who blinks last with counter-picks.
Of course, I'm against re-drafting in general and was under the impression that we had done our last redrafts. The round-robin-to-playoffs draft was in place from the beginning of the tourney. This was not, and was announced today. I understand it's "more fun" for some, though you'd get a good match either way, I just think it seems awfully spur of the moment compared to the deliberate decisions of the rest of the tourney. I also have the team I want and loathe having to redraft for fear of being countered. I'll put the work in to be happy with a new team, but would've preferred not to have to.
Frankly though, my, pg's, and leo's opinions should be the only ones that matter at this point. No offense to Kandy or others, but I hope leo discounts all other opinions on this.
