We couldn't pick just to counter a specific team, we had to build a rounded team for ourselves against any opponent. I also have the team I want and loathe having to redraft for fear of being countered. I'll put the work in to be happy with a new team, but would've preferred not to have to.

yeah, true that it was announced today. i'd thought i'd mentioned the possibility in the past, but maybe not. i'd always had it in my HEAD, but guess i didn't put it on paper.

i'd like to give the option of a redraft here as well to avoid a possible rehashing of your earlier match. if you are strongly opposed, perhaps we could allow a SINGLE character to be switched, or find some other way to decide the issue?

Pg's not going to budge because he's been using the same team the entire time, and I beat him with a similar team. It's sound strategy for him to want to switch, and I don't blame him for pushing for it. Obviously I'd like to forgo a draft entirely for similar reasons.

It's been put on the table already and the initial decision was to allow it. I seem to be the lone voice against it entirely, so I don't reasonably expect the redraft to be canceled entirely, though that remains my vote for official purposes.

So there isn't an obvious compromise other than what you've already said (2 redrafts) or your proposed amendment here (only 1). My vote is with the 1, and I'd be happier with that. Ironically, PG will likely want 2 and you'll simply be playing tiebreaker again.

What about a blind re-draft?

as in, they can't see their opponents teams until everything is finalized.

That's already happening, though it's a good idea imo. The only issue is with the redraft itself, which was just announced today, and whether we should allow full team redrafts or not.

you could have a blind redraft of one character, since it's a combo of both *shrugs*

yeah, but frankly pg dropped the ball when he had a chance to redraft in the earlier rd and chose not to. my sole concern at this point to to try and find the best match possible between you guys. clearly i don't want a repeat match. i'll allow the redraft of a SINGLE character in a blind format. no one will know what's up until i post the initial posts. any new character must be pm'd to me and APPROVED by THURSDAY at 5EST (think i said FRIDAY in a previous post.)

NEW CHARACTERS MUST BE IN AND APPROVED BY THURSDAY AT 5EST. ZERO TOLERANCE IN THIS REGARD.

i'll open the matches sometime friday evening.

Is it still going to be 3 judges for the final, or are you going to bump it to 7 for a more 'overall consensus' sort of deal?

i'll ask around and see how many i can find who want to vote.

I'm hoping for more than 3 as well, but I'm good with whatever.

The drafting compromise seems solid, and I can respect the desire to avoid a "repeat" match from earlier in the tourney.

I would be up for another judging if called upon.
