I understand a movie with it's trademark monster needs to reveal it as little as possible to build up tension for the much bigger moments when the beast's finally shown off but damn is my inner child disappointed reading that.

Unfortunately people don't appreciate "the less is more" approach to monster movies these days.
I think I'm detecting sarcasm. It's not that I want to see less but you have to admit, in movies like Cloverfield, it kinda works but I guess since they pretty much shown off what the new Godzilla looks like, it defeats the purpose doesn't it? Good job, marketers.

No sarcasm at all.
I'm just thinking audiences will make the inevitable comparison to Pacific Rim & may feel disappointed with the "slow reveal".
Personally that's gonna be the highlight for me...waiting for Godzilla to make his appearance.
Well Pacific Rim was more of a flashy popcorn Robots vs Monsters escapism film which had a pretty large plot, so it makes sense why they were showing off the monsters right from the get go.
With this Godzilla remake though, they seem to want to turn Godzilla into a sentient version of...well...a nuke going off, or a megatsunami. Literally a threat that humanity has never encountered before. It makes sense why they would do a slow build-up.
The Japanese Fans think this Godzilla has gotten fat on cola & pizza
like they can talk....their version of Godzilla vs King Kong, Godzilla was fat in that.

Has anyone else seen the Fiat commercial featuring Godzilla? I figured at some point, an even bigger "G" (Greed) would get hold of him, but to turn him into a comedic, commercial prop even before the movie is out?So much for "I am become death..."
Pumped me up even more TBH
