Yes. You do miss a lot:
Like the opportunity to have you view of life turned bleak and empty of hope, like the chance to put on your DVDs of the Indy OT and die a little inside everytime because you know that no matter what situation he escapes in those movies, you are reminded of the horror of Indy's future. He might as well have died right there in that Spike room, or under that rolling boulder in South America.
A bit like when you watch Aliens...All that effort to escape and save Newt and then it's Alien 3.....
Same thing. Only much more horrible in the 'potential, alleged, never really happened' ass Indy IV.
You also miss the experince of wanting to put a gun in your mouth to stop the memories of the raping over and over of a much beloved character running through your mind every time you hear the Indy theme.
