Who is "They?"

Beginning to hate the noobs that simply waste respawns. Kind of hard to carry noobs when their deaths **** you up.

Why ?

just seems that there on planet Sera because they are.

Who are you talking about?

The humans or Locust? Lambent?

And too answer your question because that's where they live. The story, from what I think I understand has nothing to do with reality and Earth. It's a fantasy story similar to stories like Lord of The Rings, Wheel of Time and Star Wars.

And I ****ing hate the term "Noob". Everybody has to start somewhere. If it wasn't for new players, the online portion of the game wouldn't be around.

A noob isn't someone who's new at a game, that's a "newbie", or "newb" for short. A "noob" is someone who plays badly, wither it be by using cheap tactics or having no skill.

Sounds like semantics definitely, but there is a difference.

I really never have seen more than one usage of the word noob.

It just means you SUCK, for whatever reason. whether that be your using cheap tactics,y ou just started or your just not good at games... it all means your a noob

Ugh.. every time I see the word noob I cringe..

Ugh...

Every time I see the name "Barker" I cringe.

I see.

I guess I'm getting old.

I still ****ing hate the word. Creates a shitty ****ing user experience and elitism.

the campaign was a lot of fun but the multiplayer is unplayable for me the sawed off is so anti competitive its ridiculous.

I dunno about sawed off...I've been ridiculously killed by it, but every time I die to it I cannot help but feel like it is my fault for walking into melee range. One thing is certain...the sawed off pawns the gnasher rushers.

Heh

this will never ever be acceptable in a game that is supposed to be competitive. not unless its a power weapon you pick up on the map

i think its funny that sawed off users yell "adapt adapt" yet the only reason the sawed off is in the game is because noobs couldnt adapt to the gnasher

It looks OP, but those guys were morons.

The Sawed Off is annoying, but I sort of agree about the adapting. It pawns the Gnasher at oneshot/melee range, but the Gnasher is still the more versatile shotty. I think the problem is that everyone can spawn with the sawed off.

i wouldnt call them morons. they were trying to win.

the cog team had just captured that point, you could tell by how they went from having 0 points to 1.

its not their fault that just as they captured the point and were moving to secure the area someone popped out of nowhere with a gun that will kill everything in front of your screen, even things youre not looking at.

thats just awful.

I do think it is their fault because they should have spread and have just 1 or 2(to speed the capture) in the hill and give him/them cover. It looks devastating, but they were all within the Sawed-Off's optimal range and they paid the price for it.

then he would have gotten two easy kills that were completely unpreventable by the cog team. solo'ing half a team with one blind fired shot with zero risk to you doesnt sound right for a gun that you start with.

I agree about starting with the damned sawed-off.

I don't use the sawed off because compared to the Gnasher it feels unreliable. However I have been pawned with it quite a few times.

That video just further strengthens my opinion that the sawed off is to over powered. Of course that scenario in the video isn't common (five kills in one shot) but it still shouldnt have that capability. With that said, as long as you have a group of people that work together as a team it becomes an advantage when the opposing team is perving sawed offs. However, it's hard to come across a random room where people like to work together or even have mics.

Sawed off is a blessing in disguise.

It's changed the dynamic of the game, which has been sorely needed since the first Gears of War where everything revolved around the Gnasher. Now that there's a hard counter to the Gnasher, and a reason not to retard rush with the gnasher, people are actually more or less forced into a more midranged playstyle with the assault rifles because it's too risky to run up to melee range, which I can't help but think is how the developers envisioned the multiplayer for this series from the start.

Team Deathmatch, or any mode that have many respawns, is the only game made where I see the Sawed off being problematic, seeing as you can respawn so many times with that weapon that it promotes carelessness as there's no real penalty to running around like an idiot blind firing at people and hoping for the best. Then again, this game was never about Team Deathmatch, and it shouldn't be now. It should be a diversion as it's the least tactical and noob friendly of all the versus game modes. It's unfortunate that it's the most popular game mode right now.

Play warzone or Execution and the sawed off is much less dominating. Those are the modes that the game has been balanced around from the start. People are much more careful in those game modes on account of the "you die and you're out" mechanics of the modes. Running around with the sawed off might get you a kill, but usually they'll be taken out shortly after, and in Warzone and Execution that's it, they're done for that round.

As for that video up there that's entirely the fault of the people who got gibbed. If they're going to group up like that then they deserve it.

how do you avoid grouping up when trying to capture a point that is only 5 feet wide?
