Its gotten couple of good reviews so far this third game.

Game's excellent. Single player is far and away the best in the series. Storytelling is vastly improved over the last two and the length seems to have been increased. Loving it so far.

I'm probably going to get Live to play this. Good deal for 15 months at the same price.

This game is amazing. Utterly amazing.

Not perfect though, of course. The story has some pacing issues at times imo, and I feel like I'm in a huge disconnect with the storyline since I haven't read any of the novels (which cexplains just about everything mentioned in the first couple chapters of the game).

Having a lot of fun with this installment. It's definitely the most meaty and refined game of the series. The new edition of beast mode is a lot of fun and the new editions to horde mode are appreciated but the shotguns still make team deathmatch broken.

How is the matchmaking?

Its great.....well it seems to be okay for me

also i had to restart from the start again when i got the update, Thank god i was'nt halfway through the game.

I wouldn't personally say it was broken, it's still unbalanced, but nowhere near broken that it was in the first two, where you look like a rookie for having anything but the gnasher out. I've been holding my own very well and I've been using the retro lancer almost exclusively. I pull the shotgun out if I need it.

Got XBOX Live Gold.

Played about 1 hour of Versus. Had a ton of fun. It's nice to play a MP game that isn't totally twitch based (CoD and such).

Looking forward to playing Horde mode.

I do love, though, how the only negative all the reviews out there can bring up about the game is "It's basically just a better version of the last two games".

"Unoriginal" is always the go-to complaint when you can't think of anything else to say.

Well it is basically like the last two.

I don't see that as a problem if the game is done extremely well, which Gears 3 is but you cannot say that the game is original in any means.

It isn't original at all, especially in regards to its sequels.

A game not being different from its prequels isn't a valid criticism, though, imo.
