Completely ignoring the fact that the technique Earthquake was nott mentioned anywhere near the 'Dex entry. You cannot assume that Ty is using it, you have to back that with proof.

I'm not trying to piss you guys off, but how does "ground quaking" not make you think of the word "earthquake"?

Because it says nothing of the shaking ground being the thing that makes the mountains crumble. Only that he can do either.

That only one interpretation, which is why we need to see Tyranitar crushing something with his hand so we can judge better, don't you think?

If Tyranitar can crush something with collateral damage by shakign the ground nearby, that's an /even better/ strength feat. 😐

Yep. 🙂

Lets say that the he hits the mountain to use EQ on it. He can just as easily hit Nidoking with the strength he uses to make the mountain crushing EQ. So wether its EQ or not the strength is still in those arms.

Ok, so we all agree that Ty uses Earthquake to drop mountains (the better feat, according to ScreamPaste) instead of a Futae no Kiwami, right? 😖hifty:

Yep, except for the;

Lets say

part.

I need more agreements before I continue.

You're hoping we'll agree to the better strength feat so you can shut us down with "earthquake is banned" which wouldn't work because that doesn't stop Tyranitar from backhanding Nidoking, the catalyst for said earthquake is strictly Tyranitar's own strength.

Nope, but thanks for reminding me. Like you said, that reason is pointless.

Strat time: Tyranitar uses Rock Polish, evades Nidokings attack. Then uses Dragon Dance for a speed and attack boost and finishes with an Aqua Tail that would most likely end it.

Nidoking uses Double Team. Strategy is moot.

Shin, you agree to earthquake?

Neh, even if the pokedex entry in question were referring to an Earthquake, it would only make Tyranitar stronger, and is only one of multiple dex entries mentioning his physical power. I prefer to err on the conservative.

But the conservitaive side is the less logical side. 🙁

Double team doesn't negate that Tyranitar is now stronger and much faster. Or Double team back and eventually hit Nidoking with all those boosts.

Well, it doesn't matter much, because I have the statement I need from you:

For the record, being so strong you can crumble mountains by shaking the ground nearby with your own strength is an even better feat.

Now, what you have truly done is given Nidoking increased strength, for he can replicate destruction by the same method, although to lesser extent than Tyranitar (how much less is unknown and not important, as I am about to show).

So, Tyranitar has an epic Earthquake, but Nidoking is one of the very pokemon few who know Fissure (by level up, no less).
"What's so great about that? 0HKO is just game mechanics." Let me show you what Fissure can really do @ 6:40 - 7:50:

YouTube video

...and that was just a measly old Sandshrew who has no strength feats and cant really be compared to Nidoking or Tyranitar at all. So, if a featless Sandshrew could do something like that, when Nidoking performs Fissure, the destruction is going to be catastrophic. Perhaps on the plane of mountain destruction? It certainly is possible.

Oh, and Rain, Nidoking will get his Double Teams out first since he is the faster of the two.

Double Team wouldnt activate faster just because Nidokings physically faster. Besides, Dragon Dance and Rock Polish.

And Ash's Tauros did a fissure vs Drake and it was only a ground traveling shockwave. Both times its a slow acting and predictable attack.
