Most sects of Christianity already have an unofficial stance on alien life. It's much better from a preservation standpoint to be able to say "HA! Our God accounted for this all along," if we discover extraterrestrial life, and preferable to the (more reasonable, imo) claims that intelligent alien life blows most Earth-based religions out of the water in terms of beliefs, making them irrelevant.
Do we have an "atheist" thread? I always kinda wanted to make one to have a place to collect my general reasoning on the subject (since it's disseminated throughout the forum randomly otherwise), as well as provide a formal place to talk about it. This thread is close, but is very broad in its scope.

As forum goers probably know I'm an atheist. I don't believe in God, certainly not any traditional concept of one anyhow. We don't yet have a thread specifically to talk about atheism yet so I'm starting this one as a place for discussions about it.
