Marvel vs Capcom 3

Damn! Lookin' good! And the effects comin' offa the special moves look 'really' nice. My issue of GI should be comin' in the mail anyday now. Can not wait.

Also can't wait cuz this issue of GI will reaveal Captain America, Dante Deadpool, and Felicia.

From what I hear, Deadpool can hit opponents with his health bar. Now that's crazy but fitting for a character like him.

"Deadpool's teleportation device will comically malfunction if you spam his teleport move. Also, he breaks the fourth wall by beating his opponents with his health bar."

LMAO, Hilarious!!!!

Kinda disappointed that the game is now gonna have a TVC control scheme. I have never played TVC (I hear the game is still good) but I really like my fighters "traditional". The whole 3 attack button set up is somethin' I was really crossin' my fingers for NOT to happen. Hell, I can barely accept games wit just 2Ps and 2Ks. Now it's just generalized like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (a game I still love, but do not take seriously).

Yay, Deadpool.

Rumor has it that "Kick-Ass" will be in MVC3.

Pretty high rumor. Wonder how legit it is.

Thank god it 2P and 2K. The 3 punch/kick is only good for Arcades. That gave me problems in MvC2 and one of the reasons I kept getting my ass kicked (other than not being experienced enough and not knowing how to use my assists well).

It's not gonna happen. Kick Ass isn't even a true Marvel character.

Nice to see they're gonna make him original 😎

The graphics look stunningly like Street Fighter 4. I wonder how most of the Marvel characters will look.

TvC button layout is the absolute hog wash worst idea they put into MvC3...man, I was excited for this game, however the 3-button layout alone will make it stupid imo.

I enjoyed TvC, however to incorporate that button layout into a Marvel vs game to me absolutely does not bold well whatsoever. I don't want Marvel vs Capcom 3 to play like a TVC game, I want it to feel and play more like a Marvel VS game.

Yes, we don't know how it truly plays like yet, however by incorporating the execution commands to be that of TVC you are directly going to give it those similarities to it.

Capcom never ceases to amaze me sometimes (in a bad way this time, sadly).

Edit

"to be more accessible"

the eventual death of all competitive games...

well.. it seems like they've been getting more of a revival with the idea of making their fighters more universally accessible..

granted I dont exactly agree with it either.. I think the ENTIRE point of a fighter is that you shouldnt be able to pick up the controller and button mash someone to death thats been playing for weeks or months more than you

the screens look better than TvC quality.. which is kinda nice..

I think they can still pull it off with a 3 button layout, as long as they give you alot of command normals (a-la blazblue)... but that "universally accessible" shit is really giving me the creeps.. lord knows what kind of comeback system they've got up their sleeves this time 😘

I'm willing 2 give this game a chance. Many complained about the seemingly "over accessibility" of SF4 and SSF4, Ncluding me, and it's the biggest thing at EVO and the players who owned N SF3 R the same players who own N SFIV. I personally hate 3 button fighters that R not Jojo or TVC, but hey, if it's at the very least along the lines of TVC then at least it will B a fun game 2 play.

It blows that Capcom is taking away from the more serious base 2 cater 2 newbs N' casuals but Marvel is more Nvolved now which makes me think, Capcom isn't just trying 2 make a new MVC, Capcom is trying 2 make a smash hit. Let's just give this game sum time B4 we go judging.

another reason I think they're opting for 3 buttons instead of 6 is because of how many characters they're gonna cram in it.. tons of attack animations

lmfao i can't stop thinking about a mickey mouse, megaman, and wolverine vS spiderman, (the robot) goofy, and a thanos mvc3 match up.

if disney steps in the game'd go from the greatest most anticipated fighting game of all time to the worst game overall of all time in one week.

please disney stay tfo!!

My problem with this 3-button layout is that you'll downright exclude characters within it.

For example, I know someone like Strider Hiryu is not announced or confirmed, however lets just say that Capcom decides to put him into MvC3. How would he seriously be able to play anything like his other counterparts, or to his individual uniqueness?

Think of what Strider needs to do to win, he needs, Far swipes, his different modes of teleports, his birds, beast, charge moves, bombs, etc, etc....how do you seriously incorporate all of that into a 3-button layout? How? If Strider was in MvC3 with these layouts, he would be missing a large arsenal of his tactics.

To me, it just doesn't absolutely make any sense whatsoever, heck, even take for example of how different if was from Marvel vs Capcom 2 to say Children of the Atom.

Look to Ice Man for example, back then, with the 6-button lay out, he could launch beams upwards...just think of how great that would have been in MvC2 when facing Storm fly aways and Sent fly bs tactics? Or how about Colossus with his RH charge, because back in the day it used to fly at a higher angle which would have done a great deal against runaway tactics that you see so often in MvC2.

However, with the button layout of MvC2 being 4/2, they simply just removed some of these tactics all together, which didn't help, but in many cases made scenarios for characters that much more difficult. Like stated, imagine if Ice Man was able to do his Ice boulder that protects him when he's falling...he would have loved it up against someone like Magneto I can tell you that much.

So in my opinion, going TvC "style" button layout is simply stupid and outrageous, because they tried so hard to establish TvC as it's own unique VS series away from Marvel. Yet they are here utilizing the 3-button layout for the Marvel Series? Come on now, that's just simply dumb on Capcoms side period, and I absolutely do not agree with what they are doing here with this.

Doing to this to be more "TvC" like and to have more "accessibility" to the norm is simply dumb, I mean, the Marvel vs Series was not "super" hard to pick up anyhow, a noob could sit there and mash out a 5-6 hit combo while playing characters like Wolverine anyhow.

Honestly, not going to like this, and just the button lay-out alone is leaving such a sour taste in my mouth that it almost makes me not want to buy this game. Saying that it's just "using" the TvC button layout but it'll still play like the Marvel vs Series to me is absolute hogwash.

I feel it'll play more like TvC due to the button layouts with the Marvel and Street Fighter characters intact. Again, they should just name this TatsuMarvel vs Capcom instead.

Different attack strengths would do different moves...I guess. Some specials can only be done with certain attack strengths.

I for one never said this game was gonna be terrible or that I wouldn't buy it. I just don't like the 3 button layout. Lord knows MVC1 was my shit and I hated that they took Medium strength out and basically combined it into LP and LK mash combos. I thought, "WTF", MVC was it's own game, it should keep it's own style (actually had a SF 6 button control scheme, but whatever). Now MVC2 totally has the Rival Schools layout and it plays similar to a fast RS without Tardy Counters and move clashes. To this day I don't like its controls compared to MVC1, but that doesn't stop me from sayin' MVC2 is one of the greatest fighter of all time, even wit its incredible flaws. And you can't say that MVC2's 4 button layout isn't an ULTRA easy RS layout...Both MVC2 and RS have two strengths. Tappin' the buttons of weak strength more than once gives you a little combo and what made MVC2 even worse was that at least in RS you had to do manual launches. For most characters in MVC2, when mashin' L strength, you do an auto launch.

I'm just sayin' the exact same thing I said when I found out they phucked up MVC1's control scheme and used Rival School's for MVC2. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now.

I really wish there was more clashing in games.. such crazy stuff ><
