Johnny Yong Bosche is actually one of my favorite VAs (even though he voices one or two characters that I think are annoying pissants--Nero, most notably), though I personally think that particular voice would fit X or Axl better. I think a deeper more mature voice fits best for Zero--they pretty much had Zero's voice down to a perfect fit in X8.
Nevertheless, I say with no shame that I enjoyed Zero in TvC and I look forward to his return in MvC3, which is saying something since I think almost every Megaman continuity sans Legends can go to hell, although the character Zero is okay--definitely a more interesting character than any Megaman.
