Why is most of the roster made up of badasses and dark heroes?

About 75% of this roster is mentally ill or emotionally stunted while the other 20% are just super id's representing a theme rather than human personality trait.

Quite frankly, I'm glad Marvel either ignored most of the top voted in that poll at Capcom or rejected them if asked to use if they could use them. Because it wasn't that good. BOTH Venom and Carnage in the top five? Really? I guarantee if that poll were done on an actual comic book site, the results would have been a lot different. I'm glad they're also catering to people who actually read their comics and not just people who watch the cartoons and movies.

Aside from those that I already knew confirmed, I pretty much only wanted Apocalypse from Marvel even though I knew it would probably never happen, which it didn't srug (oh, and to clarify, I meant him being approximately human sized and not the giant boss copout that he was in X-Men vs Street Fighter).

I would like to go on record and say that BOTH Hulk and She-Hulk are awesome in MVC3 and that Wolverine is GOD and X-23 is trash, but still useful.

Yeah, Marvel's list of additions can suck a dick. No Venom and no Gambit, instead we get a slew of characters I could care less about, Ghost Rider is the only one that looks decent.

Some interesting tibits about rejected characters from the live stream.

"Gene, Mega Man X were part of our initial discussions"

"Mega Man not being in UMvC3 was not intended to be trolling the fans, and it is just unfortunate that the MML3 cancellation and the roster leak occurred very near our reveal of the game."

"Cyclops was never considered. There are too many X-Men in the game already"

"Venom was vetoed by Marvel." (Most likely because Capcom wanted the traditional Venom and Marvel is way past that Venom.)

"Balance of Gender and Race was never a considerations in our discussions."

"Someone asked about Gambit and they said he's not in, but he hasn't been ignored."

All of this is paraphrased.

Nemesis, Ghost Rider, Frank West...about time these guys were added. I guess Capcom only bull$#!++ed in the past just to surprise us and they've succeeded.

Man, this game actually seems like the improvement I've always wanted. And if I wasn't sick of Capcom, I would actually get it.

I can understand the disdain for Cap right now. But don't forget the facts. Sfiv and mvc3 aren't the greatest and grandest fighters this gen, for nothing. Just look at EVO this year,

SFIV>MVC3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>everything else.

They may have some questionable and shady business practices, but their ability to make fighters that are unrivaled, where it counts, shouldn't be forgotten. You may be pissed now, but when you're playing 3S😮E, your rage will subside. And I know you love Marvel too much, not to try UMVC3.
