Marvel vs Capcom 3

Started by Nemesis X101 pages

I know I've been asking for Nemesis for awhile and they finally put him in. I wish Capcom would just introduce him in a trailer already. I'm eager to see how he'll be played.

According to a recent interview Niitsuma wanted 58 characters, but execs wanted the game to be out by Christmas. (which seeing as it's a big time for games to be sold, I can understand).

Sounds like he might've already had some characters planned. Heck, that might be the reason why MM didn't make it in, simply because the game had to come out this year. To me, this sounds like there's a really good chance Niitsuma's gonna work on the characters he wanted to add and make them DLC.

I sure was hoping to see Phoenix Wright. Guess that means I gotta wait another whole month! 🙁

It really pains me that what I was expecting for in the old version was really half of it. Paid $60 for something that didn't last long and when it didn't entirely amuse me, the Ultimate version appears. Now I have to probably go and waste a total of $100 for this game just to get what I was waiting for this whole time although I could just say screw it and pretend UMVC3 isn't happening at all and try to spend my money on other games that are obviously better but then again, I have been addicted to the fighting game and it'll have Nemesis and Ghost Rider to boot but because how much Capcom loves to troll me and every other fan, my interests in what they sell are becoming rather limited like their brain cells.

It's the same game but with things that should be considered DLC but the tsunami incident in Japan occured and kept Capcom from doing this and had no choice but to put it on disc. That is bullcrap. Clearly what they're doing here is making us feel bad 'cause they feel bad and we should give in to what they offer 'cause all of us who feel bad should stick together and buy crap from eachother, right? WRONG! They must think we were all born yesterday or something to fall for such a ruse.

Getting this game does feel rather tempting but will I actually buy this? Only time will tell and I hope when that time comes, Capcom learns that the more they leech off their fan community like this, the sooner we're all either gonna boycott their games until they make everything right or run into their building and wreck stuff like it's the 1960's.

I'm glad I waited before buying it.

But if I shelled out 60 or 70 bucks at launch, you'd better believe I'd be pissed about having to shell out even more money for another full game, just to get the extra content.

As a stand alone purchase, it's a steal.

I don't think so. Those who knew, know capcom. The choice is, do you want to wait an extra year to get a better version of a game you've waited 10 years for or do you want to shell out the $60 to play, now and then spend $40 later? The people who knew, like me, don't care. I called him scrub and a noon because he didn't even have his facts straight about umvc or ssfiv. Lol

Also, the people who didn't see this coming are the ones who are mad, and if you didn't see this coming, then you don't know capcom and thus you dont know sf or marvel. Half the people complaining are going to buy umvc3 anyway and love it.

If you're crazy about fighting games, you shouldn't care.. You got your moneys worth in the first edition, and you'll get value from the update.

If you're a casual gamer, you're probably not going to waste your money... I know casuals who bought the original VF4, and when the new and improved VF4 Evo came out, they didn't bother.. They had one VF game, and one is all they needed.

I'll say this much, as a fan of professional wrestling, you get used to shelling out money for incremental updates. Smackdown vs RAW series is all about the same old, same old with a little extra content.

LOL I am so going to show this to everyone I know. So Awesome!

A little sad too, since in reality, that little starving kid and everyone like him is going to buy what the monster tells him, because what he's selling is THAT good, even though they know it's really bad. Hey! Like drugs!

Other than that, at least I know Netherrealm Studios likely wouldn't stoop as low as Capcom by making a Super or Ultimate MK9 that utterly rips off the people who bought the original version and the DLC for it, unless it was made for another system altogether like the Wii U or some next-generation shit. awesome

Who better to say it than a patsy who's actually gonna buy the game. But like people is sayin, Capcom's only doin this shit cuz fool's gonna buy it. And at next year's EVO, it will once again be the hypest game there, besides whatever version of SSFIV.

It is like a drug, people buy Capcom's reiterations like they are laced with crack or somethin. If NR made a Super MK9, it wouldn't even sell close to UMVC3 or Mega SSFIV would.

People complain like a motha'f**ka, but "somebody's" buyin' these games. As a friend put it, "It's like sex, Capcom goes hard and wont stop 'til it flops." 😆They 2 Legit 2 Quit!

F**kin chauncies, stop buyin these games! Blinkwon80too makes a huge 100 page rant blog about why this is a terrible practice and is the 1st person on Xbox Live when UMVC3 is released. You and everyone like you is a chauncey.

I wonder who will be top tier when the game comes out.

Considering how much the original sold, actually yeah. It probably would, though that's beside the point.

Nah, I don't think so. The original has sold well but many of the pros say the community's still very weak. They don't even see mk9 being at EVO next year.

That's a major flaw in American made fighters, they don't last very long after release.

Yeah, Americans don't know how to treat American fighting games. It disgusts me.

MK community weak? I think they're kinda underestimating the influence it has had over EVO 2011 numbers. MK has always been a hugely popular series in the US with all types of gamers, despite its lack of a previous competitive scene. Since MK9 came out, tons of people in the community have brought people out from online and into the tourney scene, a scene many weren't even aware of. While the MK community may not currently be as serious as the Capcom fans due to its new entrance into truly competitive play, it would be a grand mistake to underestimate it or its potential. Basically the MK community has had to build from the ground up, while these other games have already had a steady consistent competitive community. From the way it looks, the MK community is getting there slowly but surely. Just give it time; I would start speculating on the "strength" of the community in another year or so, but even then it may still need more time.

And, it is still possible that MK9 may be at EVO 2012. Exactly how possible is up to debate. Evo usually runs 6 games which kinda gives MK some wiggle room to work its way in. It also depends on what NRS does to MK in the next year, like if they keep patching and making the game as balanced as possible. It could very well have an even better and stronger cast of players next year.

Will be fine with either outcome though... Wonder if we'll see a bunch of adult weaboos at Evo 2012 playing Skull Girls (some anime game with an all female loli cast) competitively, lol.

You may very well be right. But the fact is, the MK scene is not at that point, YET. The MKC is still mostly American players with that mainstream American menatlity. They hate the fact that SF and the lot have constant upgrades, they don't understand what it means. Of course the TOP MK9 Players know because they ALSO play SF. But MKC isn't at a point where they will buy a Super MK9, they still hate when SF does it.

My other point is, the world almost exploded when MK9 was 1st released, now if you really want some MK hype and love, you have to go to TYM, it declined sort of fast, like around the time of the DLC characters. MVC3 and SFIV are still as hype as ever.

Yeah, that's true admittedly.

Find it kind of strange though how the hype sort of declined around the time of the DLC characters. Having liked most of those said characters, I figured it would've increased the hype for awhile longer like it sorta did for Jill and Shuma Gorath (mostly Jill) in MvC 3. Odd. mmm

I haven't seen the hype, personally, unless you're only talking among fighting affection-ado's.

MK9 still seems pretty popular with casual fans, especially with all the Freddy advertising.

Anyways, if the Mortal Kombat fanbase is too small for Evo, at least it's not as bad as Dead or Alives miniscule fanbase.. 😄

Speaking of which, friends keep telling me it's a quality franchise.. What do you think of the series, and which would you recommend owning?

Dead of Alive 3 is usually the most hyped..
